Flood was big fan of Cohen up until he left, hope Marrone sees the same thing.

Tough kid. Those plays always make me wince because the players aren’t able to see what is coming while creating running lanes.

The truth... Quick update... Team will practice today then scrimmage in stadium tomorrow, next week they will practice on Tuesday and Thursday then ADAY on Saturday which will be the end of spring.

I will get specifics out on scrimmage tomorrow then spring recap after ADAY as things change over the last two weeks. Most is set but....

OL has the most movement. Still a lot of moving parts on 1st and 2nd team. Coaches want the best five on the field and have plenty of options. Owens, Ekiyor, and Neal will start. Brown, Randolph, Cohen and George are also working with the 1st team. The current 2nd team (L-R) is T Brockermeyer, Kight, Dalcourt, McLaughlin, Latham. Ferguson and Bowles not far behind. Potential starters from second team would be Quick when he returns, Latham, or Tommy Brockermeyer.

Nobody has been able to stop Will Anderson and Chris Allen from the outside or Harris up the middle blitzing. They might be along with Moody (Or Lee or freshman) the best group ever at Alabama or at least in a long time. And our DL has 9 players that would start for most top 10 teams.

Armour -Davis and Jobe have been doing great in practice but coaches working hard on developing corner depth. See previous posts and more to come this spring and summer. We are one lock down corner away from THE TRUTH DEFENSE!

One interesting point to follow is what happens when Moore returns...That will be determined this summer in 7-7 and fall camp. Armour-Davis, Jobe, Battle, Hellams, and Branch starting now.

In the spring game we'll see defense is way ahead, unless 1 offense goes vs 2 defense or 2 offense goes vs 3 defense, or they play cover 2 and don't blitz much. Defense is REALLY good!

This time of year is always annoying to me because good news about the defense could mean the offense sucks and vice versa

Rather hear good news about the defense than the offense. With the offense breaking in new starters and having some players out, the defense should dominate.

I think the offense will be absolutely fine

I hope they let them play next week. No they don’t need to destroy the QBs. It’s going to be REALLY hard to see how good Bryce is if they blow the whistle every time Anderson touches him. Hopefully they will have outstanding refs that can differentiate a massive blow for a sack and someone escaping from a far outreached hand.

More interested in seeing which new folks are making up to the 2nd group on both sides of the ball. If they haven't been getting minutes by the end of their soph season then must likely they will not (exception being special teams)

Moody seems to be the exception so far this spring.

The reasoning behind selling tickets was in an article behind a pay wall. What was the athletic department's reason for charging admission this year?

The AD lost $Ms in revenue due to the pandemic. 50,000 capacity @ $5/ticket = $250,000 revenue.

The given reason was because of a still reduced capacity due to the Covid restrictions. Easier to scan tickets and stop at 50k rather than trying to count to 50k and turn people away. Making a little change in the process doesn’t hurt either.

Sounds like we are gonna have a GOAT level defense again this year. I’m hopeful.

Also sounds like ADay is gonna be sloppy because the OL isn’t gonna be able to block Anderson&Allen and give Bryce a little time

Sounds like Young was "dropping some dimes" in the scrimmage per TI.

My main goal is to stay healthy and get the injured players from last year back ready to go for the season. The offense will be fine.

Also sounds like Milroe, Latu & Baker (among others) had a nice day.

I'm starting to get a little excited about Latu. Sounds like he is someone that caught O'Brien's eye early on, and is having a good spring. If we can play him as a traditional TE, and use Billingsly (who btw supposedly had a long TD catch today) at the same time as a flex TE/slot guy, I don't see how you can defend the run or the pass against that.
