Carlsbad is a legit program. Same with Lincoln there. Folsom is likely better but I wouldn’t say it’s a bad program by any means.

In my opinion only one time players put their personal interest ahead of the team that may have cost us a National Championship. It could have even been subconscious on their part. I thought Allen, Foster and Humphries were not their usual selves when Clemson boat raced us with a freshman quarterback. That was the best defense Saban had in my opinion. We could have lost with a top performance from them but I doubt it.

Think about the lack of discipline the past few years, especially 2022.

Yea, I haven't seen this anywhere.

this is wild

"John Talty: Feel confident saying that Julian and the family intended/wanted to stay and this is driven much more by DeBoer and staff than by Julian. Unfortunate situation because I'm a huge believer in Julian's talents and think he's going to be a star.

Tom Loy: This. He wanted to stick it out initially and then well, things went south. Shocked to be honest. Sayin is the real deal. I think the new staff will regret this one. Just my opinion."

Tom Loy is very reliable. If he said this, then he heard it.

Sayin doesn't want to compete but is going to the same place that took Air Noland in his same class?

Come on now

Donors are obviously tired of losing to Michigan...they have been opening up the checkbook big time this offseason.

going anywhere BoB coaches is ludicrous for a QB

Allen, Foster and Humphries lost to 2016 Clemson with Watson. Down to the last play.

We were boat raced in 2018 by Lawrence. That year we had an all world offense...not an all world defense.

I'm not saying it's trash. I'm saying the competition isn't the same as say Tejas or even Georgia or Alabama.

Sayin was likely going to be sitting behind Milroe this season and Ty Simpson for 2 years had Saban not retired.

Carlsbad CA football wouldn't beat Thompson, Clay-Chalkville or Buford. Now in jazz dancing? That's a different story.

Their league isn't known for having great competition. Vista, Oceanside, Torrey Pines, Lawndale. These aren't powerhouses in highschool football.

All major highschool football in CA is in and around L.A.

It doesn't realy mater who started the rumor but I am hearing that Sayin has a great relationship with the new center at OSU and wants to play with him. BoB is just a bonus.

Ok, I admit the rumor does not sound legit. It sounded better in my head before I started it.

I'm just going to assume that Sayin was scared of the extra competition. Since there's no way to know either way. Talty's "reporting" is vague and could mean multiple different things.

The reason for Sayin initiating the process to depart Alabama, sources said, is that he came to play for Saban. Since Saban abruptly retired, Sayin is going to explore his options.

- Pete Thamel, ESPN.

I mean it's all rumor until someone specifically comes out and says it. Right?

Good luck to Sayin. He’ll make some team a great qb.

Can’t wait to see what this giant of a young man does for My Tide.

My guess is that Sayin is a guy that needs several years at the college level to realize his potential. And he knew Saban want going to rush him in.
Bryce Young played at Mater Dei. He was ready when he got here.
There's a huge difference in the competition at Mater Dei than at Carlsbad. I just don't think he's ready and he's looking to go somewhere he doesn't have to be the man. Wouldn't be surprised if he's a bust.

Lol. Ty is probably transferring if he loses out to Milroe again. Sayin more than likely would have won the job next year and probably had an outside chance of winning it this year.

But hey we got Mack and he seems really good. And it seems from what is being reported on BOL and on3 that DeBoer knew bringing in Mack would cost him Sayin and he did it anyway. Could be a career defining choice for him.

Here are highlights of Ty Simpson in HS. This is his junior year (same year for the highlights of Austin Mack). His senior year highlights are pretty much the same stuff.

LINK

What I notice is a lot of running out of the pocket and then chucking it deep. Very little going through reads and delivering on time passes. It's all ad libbed stuff. When he runs around a finds a guy wide open it's usually not on time, so the guy has to wait. There's almost no completions where he sits in the pocket and hits a guy in stride and when he does, it's a guy he's staring down.

Here is video of Mack's junior year.

LINK

Mack is almost always throwing from the pocket. He's going through reads. He's hitting guys in stride. He is running an actual offense. I expect Mack to be backup this fall, at worst. If he gets a shot like Buchner does he may end up being the starter by the end of the year. I really like his tape.

Honestly, and this will seem silly, but I think Mack's tape looks like Peyton Manning.

Carlsbad beat Mater Dei 48-14. At least do research before saying something like this.

Just watched a video of Macks coach breaking down his film. Their offense is a far higher level than mine was in highschool. He has pre-snap, and post snap reads. Seemed to make all the correct ones too. I may get flamed for saying this, but I think we will have a hard time keeping him off the field.

We lost that game because a defensive coordinator with a pulse could pick apart Locksley’s offensive playcalling, on top of him going for it on fourth half a dozen times.

3rd drive: Field goal from their 6
6th drive: Downs on their 22
7th drive: Downs on their 14
8th drive: Downs on their 2

We only had 40 less yards than Clemson that game, but we did stupid shite like calling a full house run to the left with Tua, on 4th and 3 in the redzone

Locksleys playbook was throw a slant at least 1/3rd of the time
