Saban plays the kids he trusts to do their job. His system is complex and requires that each kid do his job and trust the other guys on the field to do their job. If one player takes a play off or does not KNOW what he is supposed to do, a gap in the system is created. The gap often becomes an explosive play.

Gap generated explosive plays were the identity of this past year's defense. MW created many such explosive plays. DT in an effort to "cover" for other people ended up creating gaps and explosive plays. If a guy like Anoma could not be trusted to be where he was supposed to be against a team like OU or Clemson, Saban was not going to play him.

Yes, Anoma has great potential (physically) but also great potential to blow up a play by being in the wrong place at the wrong time. When a great potential athlete does not show a growing mastery of the Saban system, he does not continue to get the chances to ball out until his knowledge catches up with his athletic ability.

With Saban, Do Your Job always comes before just go get the ball.

DeArmond is reporting that the staff has been communicating with him throughout the process. Maybe they are telling him that we can help him and he will get PT. But if he wants to transfer our, then do what’s best for him. I don’t think anyone can deny that Saban cares for all of his players.

It's possible that he got the chance to actually talk to the Maryland staff and realized that it wont be a quick fix for him there either. I hope he stays, we can help him improve on picking up the defense.

If Anoma stays this will mark a pivotal positive time in his life. If he buys in the kid will gain all sorts of benefits beyond football.

Nah what happened in a 19 year olds life is really none of our damn business if there’s more to the story. Stop stalking these kids for the dream of being considered “connected.”

In an interview on ESPNU, Nick Saban said Eyabi Anoma is now out of the NCAA transfer portal.

Yes. He is probably the most talented player on the team. His talent is off the charts, number 1 overall pick talent.
