Kenny Bell's Twitter is about as far as you can get from a reliable source.

I figured I'd concede to Bell considering that's one of the few things he does right

One of his coaches apparently wanted him to go and took him.

Offers over the last few days:
OL Richie Petitbon('15)
ATH/RB Chris Warren('15)
RB Devin White('16)
Both Petitbon and Warren have given quotes to suggest Bama is in the lead for them after the offers.

when has a high profile "athlete" based on recruiting sites panned out to be a big time hit at Bama. It seems like tweeners are labeled athletes. I will hang up and listen.

I agree with you to an extent. Prospects with a clear position seem to pan out more than those that don't have a clear position. It's to the point where I'm a little skeptical anytime we pursue such a a prospect and why I have my doubts about Bo

Mark Barron was listed as an athlete off the top of my head.

I think in this case Warren is a RB, he's just listed at places as an athlete for his size for a RB(6-2 225 as a Junior). He's got a pedigree as his dad is a former Pro Bowler and plays in 5A Texas ball. If you play like a RB, you're a RB. If you're playing like an athlete playing RB, it will be easy to tell.
If you push the right buttons, athletes can work. Biggest hindrance is the unwillingness of players to move to positions. That's why I have a disdain for the "settling" move to H-Back, it's a minute position that doesn't have the necessity to load up with athletes. It's a fairly easy position to recruit, no need to put top flight athletes there. I would rather them transfer and free up a scholarship rather than use up their eligibility learning it. I don't consider OJ Howard an "athlete" as he was listed, there was no questions he was a H-Back or TE. His frame may eventually move him to the latter as well.

Christion Jones was listd as a DB and has been a contributor at WR. Michael Williams was listed as a DL and has been a contributor at TE. Cyrus Jones was listed as an ATH, and it's early, but I think will be a contributor at DB before he leaves. Already was our 1st string PR for multiple games in his true freshman year.
I understand the sentiment when people worry about athletes not panning out, but I'm not sure the facts back it up. Sure some of them never pan out, but you could say that about any position.
Certainly don't think there's enough of a trend to avoid recruiting elite athletes just because of how a recruiting service lists them.

Hey Mag,
Am I safe to assume that Chris Warren's dad was a running back with the Seahawks and Pettibone's dad an all-pro with the Redskins?
Good bloodlines if so.
