Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss spoke with the media this week and was asked about the difference between Pete Golding and Lane Kiffin. This was his answer:
quote:

“The personalities are a little different than our old coach and coach Golding. I’d say he’s more of a team guy. We really value his leadership, whatever he says. He shows you faster than I can tell you. He leads by his actions, and we really appreciate that.”

I couldn't care less about his opinion. He's literally getting another year to play because of a "soar throat"... what a joke.

Glad to hear that he is over it. I heard no effects of his unfortunate injury.

Sounds like Pete Golding will be the 2nd coming of Nick Saban and Lane Kiffin had very little to do with the success Ole Miss has had. LSU obviously hired the wrong Ole Miss coach.

Yeah.... all those other teams that had pete lined up to interview are shaking in their boots the list of teams to follow

What did anyone expect to say? He has to prop up his current coach. On the other hand, Golding didn’t create any value for him.

“Our old coach” - what a prick. Your “old coach” got you out of D2.

To be fair, Kiffin calls them “previous school” and “previous players” lol

He was heavily recruited by numerous big-time schools

Not really. His big offers were Minnesota and Temple. Ohio State looked at him for a backup for a minute, but then backed off.

Big talk for a guy who has won absolutely 0 games without Kiffin or CWJr. I guess we will see how far the culture can take them vs actual coaching talent.

He won the Div II NC and the Div II Heisman Trophy. Did you watch him fight play at all last year? He’s the real deal.

Chambliss is an excellent player, but he was also in an excellent offensive system with a top level offensive minds. We'll see if the new system and new coaching is nearly effective as it was. It might be, but last year's results will not be easy to repeat.

Put it on the bulletin board. See you in Oxford.

I truly believe that Ole Miss is going to have a massive hangover in ‘26. Refuse to believe that Golding can sustain anything close to what Kiffin built there.

You’re spot on, they seem to think they are Georgia or something and will bounce back just as strong. 9-3 is their ceiling but don’t tell them that

Nah, it may fade over time if Pete isn't worth a darn, but they aren't going to just suck so soon.

I think they have a good year this year because of Chambliss and Lacy but it will be down hill after that

Really? So he coaches against elite offenses but doesn’t shite about running one?!?!?

I hate Ole Miss, but pretend you know JUST A LITTLE about football.

I thought after he won the extra year, the ncaa challenged the ruling

They did. And the appeal was denied.

I mean honestly, what is the guy supposed to say? You can’t really talk shite about your new coach

Getting $4-$5M to play another year for laryngitis is nothing to brag about. His agent should counsel him to STFU, because if he loses to LSU in week 3.. It won't be a good look!

Not sure why everyone is so triggered over this. What would you expect him to say. That he liked Kiffin much better. Maybe he likes Kiffin better, maybe he likes Golding better...but there's only one way to answer the question. We could ask all 40 guys from the portal that came to LSU what they think about Kiffin versus their former coach and they would come up with something nice to say. Occasionally somebody might drop some Pearls of Wisdom but all in all it's a non-question

so a current player spoke better of his current coach than he did the previous one?

I think ole miss is gonna be a dumpster fire this year with a decent offense at times. Fella is gonna wish he woulda went pro in one of the worst qb draft classes in recent memory

Golding to Bama. You heard it heard first. He will join the likes of Saban, Bryant, and Stallings...a bronze statue awaits him.

Meh. Players always talk good about their current coaches. No biggie.

You know I never got why Ole Petey was so salty that Kiffin took the LSU job, he wouldn't be an HC if Lane didn't take the job. And Ole Piss should be appreciative that he allowed his coaches to coach through the playoffs. And Trinidad is not going to speak the truth, that he owes everything that he is to Kiffin and Charlie Weis Jr, of course he'll speak highly about Ole Petey and say nothing about Lane's impact because that's his HC.
user avatar
Ask me if I care what a damn ole piss player has to say about our coach. GO TO HELL OLE PISS!! GEAUX TIGERS!!!
