No they didn't. LSU layed down on defense. And I don't mean lazy or unmotivated. I mean they were absolutely held back by the play caller tonight on defense. I'm not sure why Blake got on the plane. Lanes nephew could have lined them up in that base 4-3 front with a soft zone on the back end that everybody learned in the sixth grade. It's specifically designed to make sure there are no big plays but to allow every drive to be about a 13 play blood sucking scoring Drive unless they stop theirself with a dropped ball or penalty

You mean the Texas A&M that has a mobile quarterback that has gone through us like a knife through hot butter for 2 years. If we run in a base defense trying to keep him in the pocket the whole game it's going to be another long night. Still might take the L but I prefer to shoot my shot and if someone beats me they beat me

Joe burrow didn't slide for 2 years, and he wears furs and pointy shoes during Fashion Week. It's called football. Hit and be hit. If you start calling games trying to keep a bubble wrap around your quarterback you will eventually get exactly what you're trying to avoid.

The story of Lane returning to Ole Miss may be the best story in the last 10 years in college football. This week of any week this year should be all about football. Not court orders, or sanky, or temporary restraining orders, or lawsuits, or billboards, or banners flying over the stadium. We, lsu, did not put him on this stand for three and a half hours. The players were the plaintiffs and they put him on the stand. I'm not sure Clayton and his cold cup of Gumbo comments and CLK's comments on Saturday are helping to deescalate. Both sides need to take a breath bf this passes the point of our return, if it hasn't already.
You're right on one thing though. Although the plaintiffs put him on the stand and not LSU, I think the league in the NCAA are convinced that Kiffen approached and recruited the players to do this. This whole movement was LSU's attempt to work the system. I think that's why LSU is being singled out versus the other schools that are now looking at this as an option.

They already have a couple of teams from the West coast. Maybe it makes them a National Conference as their footprint would literally be Nationwide.

Yeah I hate to agree with you. But if you watch a Saints game, I don't think they've had a call go in their favor since Sean Payton called them out so badly on the Rams no call. Bounty gate, etc. I'm usually not a conspiracy theorist but felt like for years there was an attempt to punish the Saints on the field.
I've already wondered the same thing. It will open the door for the NCAA and the SEC to find other ways of Retribution. Whether that will happen or not I don't know but yes you're right on playoff berth, calls on the field, in the old days I would say fighting for a bowl spot for LSU, etc. And this type of bad blood can be long lived, even past the point when the actors involved are gone.

Interesting story about Brady. Was headed to Tuscaloosa with a small group for LSU /Bama years ago(football). Oddly enough it was when Saban was at LSU still, Bama was terrible, I don't think they got a first down in the first half. Anyway before we get out of the Baton Rouge area we pull through a Walmart to grab a couple of things we forgot. One guy jumps out of the RV to go in and John Brady is walking out of the Walmart so while the door is open one of our guys yells out to him, hey coach what's up. He casually steps up into the RV and spends a bit just talking basketball, that year's team, etc. No selfies, no fanfare, just like he ran into a group of old friends and wanted to visit for a minute.
