To be fair, the NCAA, and the college presidents who oversee it, killed college athletics. For years they stuck their collective heads in the sand, ignoring the ongoing challenge to restrictive rules regarding players. The rules were so restrictive that it was a violation for a kid to accept a free meal and other such trivial rules. Had NCAA gotten out front of the "name, image and likeness" crap, they could have formulated sensible regulations that an athlete could receive compensation for doing autograph signings, apparel sales, and personal appearance. Instead their inaction lead to the "collectives". There are others areas where they dropped the ball as well. This was the long standing, greedy, high minded "integrity" argument and blind spot of the NCAA. Much of this rests at the fee of Mark Emmert who apparently just sat on his hands or on the toilet seat.
Facts. They opened Pandora’s box with no vision of what was about to transpire. They should have had a ton of rules in place before they just let it be a free for all. Now it’s too late.

I guess I meant no more true rebuilds like it used to be.

Yeah true. I really hope not. That kid is an absolute monster in the trenches. I could see him possibly starting as a true freshman.

I think you missed the point of the post fella. I’m not advocating for the transfer portal. Try to read something other than the title next time

Yeah I agree. Was being a bit sarcastic. Moreso advocating for how special it is (to me at least ) when a high school kid comes in and kicks arse vs the one year mercenaries that have bounced around all over the place. The bad def outweighs the good. But if you have a ton of resources like LSU we should benefit from it a great deal. I miss the old days too brother but it’s not coming back so your options are really just hang up watching or do your best to accept it for what it is and move on. Or just keep watching and bitch about it nonstop which option C has been a popular choice on this cesspool of a forum.
The transfer portal is cool and all.

Actually it’s not. . The only thing I do like is that if you’re in a bad spot or coming off an abysmal year you can just reload and get back in contention in no time. No more true rebuilds. . One thing I hate about it is that the high profile portal guys seem to steal the thunder and overshadow the big time high school prospects . To me there’s something special about a kid fresh outta high school that chooses your school (albeit it’s heavily weighted on financial reasons now ) and comes in a contributes.
I for one am really excited about the stud defensive lineman we have coming in from HS and eager to see how much they’ll contribute in their first year. I have watched a ton of high school football over the last few years and I have seen some five star kids play live and thought to myself “this kid is not ready to play sec football “ and then I’ve seen some and thought “this kid could dominate in sec football tomorrow “. I’m not gonna name the ones I don’t think are ready bc I don’t wanna throw shade (although I kinda did. In a previous thread a couple week ago ) but I will say one kid that I watched a ton of live and think he’s ready to go to war right now is Richard Anderson from Edna Karr. I watched that kid single-handedly bitch slap the entire ASH o -line (a great o line that year ) and just take a game over defensively in what led to an arse kicking in the dome that my sons prob still have nightmares about.
I know dear Facebook or tldr but man I’m so excited for this season I can hardly stand it. Idk what to expect but I anticipate great things are ahead in the near future for this football program we all love. Good morning gents and Geaux Tigers:lsu:

Almost done with season 1. I really , really like this show. Episode 5 was incredible. The one where she threw the party and that evil book was giving her instructions. This show was incredibly cast imo.

I’m usually pretty reasonable when it comes to LSU. I think losing Kiffin is nothing to sneeze at for ole miss. And I think we’ve been handcuffed by bad coaching thru the Kelly era. Maybe not terrible coaching per Se but def a team that hasn’t “bought in “

If this one was in br we’d be -7.5. Favorites. We were favorites there until the bs with Chambliss

Curious what tRant thinks about how the ole miss game shakes out. I typically don’t even care or think about them but with the crazy amount of shite they’ve talked I want to beat those dorks worse than I can ever recall. I personally think we win and potentially big bc I know lane will coach like his kids lives are on the line and I truly think he’s a phenomenal coach and much more so than Pete Golding. I also think we have a more talented team top to bottom although I’m not super familiar with their roster outside of the skill positions.
For those that know their roster better than me and have some input or thoughts on how you think it shakes out I’m all ears.

Joker was a second rounder. Maybe something could go our way. Still pissed about Derik queen though. Jeez what a waste. I mean he may improve and he has contributed but I think that’s more of a testament to how bad this team is moreso than him actually being good.
