You just had to know that a billboard was coming…

Amid the recent feud between LSU and the conference, Tiger fans have taken their frustration to a new level with a billboard calling for Sankey’s firing.

The message is simple: “FIRE SANKEY.”

A special shoutout to JudgeHolden on the Tiger Rant for making it happen.

Donated To show my anger at the way SEC and Sankey have conducted themselves. Hope those 2 boys they chose to make an example sue them with good attorneys to let the SEC Office Federal Court decision's are to be followed. And to support where i was born and my parents are buried. And the School i have loved to support since 3 years old.

Tony Petitti, the commissioner of the Big Ten Conference has repeatedly gotten the better of Greg Sankey in the Big Ten–SEC power struggle, there’s a strong argument for it.

Tony Petitti vs. Greg Sankey

Tony Petitti came into the job with an unusually strong media/business background: he was MLB’s deputy commissioner/COO and previously ran MLB Network, with earlier senior roles at CBS and ABC Sports.

Greg Sankey has been SEC commissioner since 2015 and is enormously powerful in college athletics.

But Petitti has been very effective at letting Sankey be the public face of a fight while the Big Ten positions itself to benefit.

A good current example is the CFP expansion battle. The Big Ten is pushing a 24-team playoff, while Sankey and the SEC have favored a smaller field and demanded protections for SEC revenue and scheduling. Yet the Big Ten and SEC both have final approval power, meaning Petitti has put himself in a position where Sankey can’t simply dictate the outcome.

And the contrast is particularly interesting right now with LSU. Sankey has escalated the dispute to the point where the SEC was threatening LSU with severe penalties and even expulsion, while LSU ultimately backed away from putting the former NFL players on its final roster—and the SEC presidents just met without imposing sanctions.
He got Stanky to mandate the 9 game SEC schedule, which ensures another loss for half of the SEC teams and making it easier for Big 10 teams to get into the CFB Playoffs! He’s playing chess, while Stanky is playing checkers.

I think the people who came up with that two word message overestimated the reading ability of the average Alabaman.

If you have ever been to an NFL practice , you are a full fledged, roster listed, signed NFL standard player contract, players union member , suit up on Sundays - NFL pro player , according to Sankey. And you can't ever go back to college ball even though a judge says you can.

Their are hundreds of SEC and other conference players making more in college than some of the pro's but because of a word ( Pro) they are professionals and the Chambliss's are not.

They have screwed this up so bad and they want to make LSU the scapegoat. Screw the SEC and all you other limp XXXXs.

I wish they had also put up a billboard with 2 huge ears and a little mouse face with the caption, "Fire Paul Finebaum."
user avatar
That probably would not have cleared legal with the billboard provider. We did think about it.

That's going to be a new rule now. No fanbases are allowed to buy billboards.
user avatar
let them try to enforce that rule. They dont own the billboard companires. If they make a rule it will be taken to court and thrown .
