He and his pal Lindsey Graham were virtually joined at the hip. Both of them hated Trump, but Graham "officially" changed his tune after McCain got sick and had to leave Washington.
It was almost like Graham had some sort of protection with McCain that he list when McCain died.
PS - One more thing about the traitor McCain. He actually cast the deciding vote on a bill that would've effectively killed Obamacare. I'll never forget watching Chuck Schumer giving McCain a high-five as as he went by him. Even Mitch McConnell was upset with McCain, or at least he was pretending to be upset.

Nobody knows for sure, but I highly suspect that they are going to extreme measures to "technically" keep McConnell alive so that one of his cronies can continue to cast votes in his name.
But, let's say that they are soon basically forced to acknowledge that he's dead. Would that seat remain vacant for the rest of his term? Somebody is going to be replacing him next year, anyway, but would they call for a special election to fill the seat for the remainder of this year?
I'm asking because I don't see how they can keep up this charade for another 6 months.
