I imagine all these random people own property. They're all in favor of having their property seized by the government?

The new Leftists are okay with owning property, just not too much property.

Landlords are a big target. Trillionaire and billionaires are targets unless they fund The Cause.

Struggle sessions for everyone!

facial scars

Those were called dueling scars. Those were scars the German military elite would purposely get in fencing matches. They’d protect their eyes and use foils that could tear the skin. When they’d get a good cut, they had a process to encourage the scarring. Crazy stuff.

I've been there.

I went as a youngster on a family trip. We stayed at a nearby hotel that was obviously gifted to the local Indian tribe by the government. It was new enough that it still looked sort of nice but a lot of stuff like ice machines didn’t work.

The battlefield was pretty incredible.
I drink LMNT Raspberry Salt flavor and it’s fine.

However, my water heater went out the other day and had to be replaced. When the new one was hooked up, there was air and rust in the pipes that had to be purged by letting the faucets run. I noticed a batch of LMNT I made had a great smoky flavor to it. I even checked the package to see if I got a different flavor. I assume it was some rusty water in the mix. I would drink it again.

I don't know whose decision it was to shut them down but they need to be thoroughly tarred and feathered

That would be JFK’s Community Mental Health Act.

People might frown on you exhuming JFK and applying tar and feathers to his corpse.
That talking point is at least 48 hours old!

The newest one is that Austin Metcalf didn’t have the authority to remove Karmelo from the tent. Austin should have gotten a police officer to ask Karmelo to leave.
One of my kids ran cross country in high school and his shoes had the most God-awful smell I ever experienced.

We tried several things and the only thing that made a dent in the smell was Lumi Outdoors Natural Shoe Deodorizer Spray - Odor Eliminator. I got it from Amazon.

my phone and any other personal electronic devices are owned by me. Extracting information from those, to me, would raise serious 4th amendment questions.

The last couple of times I’ve gone into WalMart, my phone auto connects to their WiFi.

WalMart also uses facial recognition tech in their self-checkouts.

I have their app so maybe I agreed to that in some buried T&C.

A tale as old as time.

it was relatively safe to ride subway, walk around in the more tourist type of areas, eat at a sidewalk table, etc..

I was there about a month ago and never felt unsafe, even on the dreaded subway.

There was one time a guy seemed to be following my kid too close when we were walking and wouldn’t pass him. I told my kid “this is where we turn” and turned on a side street. The guy kept walking and we returned to the route. No biggie.

There were less homeless than I remember but the constant smell of burning marijuana was trashy.

Looking forward to going back.
Probably a dispute over who had “next” on Asteroids at Space Port.

It's taking a sabbatical from normal life

There are a few hikers who seem to get caught up in the “celebrity” status of posting about their AT thru hikes and turn right around after finishing and head back in the opposite direction. Some thru hike it in consecutive years. One guy named Hawk seems to be making a career out of hiking the AT.

Some of the popular hikers finish one of the trails and then knock out the other two in the following years but then they have a “now what?” problem. They hike some of the other popular trails like the Florida Trail or the AZ trail but it’s just not as compelling.

The AT looks fun. The desert portions of the CDT and PCT look miserable to me.

If you’re concerned about crowds, stay in the park. The first couple of hours of the day before commuters show up is worth it.

I bought a Moon Guide and it was pretty good.
Several years ago, an administrative assistant sent an email to several teams telling us that a guy on the team was transitioning and to respect their pronouns and new name. The guy followed that up with an email to many of us saying he wouldn’t get upset if we called him by his old name or misgendered him and just treat him like we always had. The guy was great to work with in the past and everyone liked him. We both changed teams/jobs and a couple of years went by before I worked with him again. He still used the non-binary name but his voice was much deeper and I think he stopped transitioning. I didn’t dare ask but it seems like he’s back to square one but with a new name.

The second guy is a head case. He has said in office conversation how he is almost 70 years old. Physically, he looks like Danny Devito. He wears jeans and an old tshirt to work every day but also wears a multi-colored wig. He uses a female first name but other than that, there is nothing feminine about him. He uses the Women’s restroom. He’s an HR nightmare so I steer clear.

This happened in Texas that fricker will Rot in jail for the rest of his miserable life. Don’t worry too much.

This happened in Collin County and what you said might have been true 30 years ago but not so much now. There are still plenty of people with that attitude but it only takes one juror to swing the verdict. I’m not saying he’ll be found not guilty but the sentencing will leave you disappointed.
