re: Real Talk. Real change happening at Red Lobster
Posted by BobABooey on 6/15/25 at 11:47 am
I wish Red Lobster good luck. With the crazy pricing at fast food places, some chains like Chili’s have taken advantage and filled a void where a family can get an affordable sit-down dining experience.
Put an emphasis on training the wait staff and reconsider restaurant locations and things will work out fine.

Sounds like Israel targeted some of Iran’s problematic Cancer Alleys - refineries close to population centers. Why aren’t Leftist Eco-terrorists happy?
No Kings Protest Check-In
Posted by BobABooey on 6/14/25 at 10:29 am
I braved the No Kings protest in McKinney, TX to make my weekly COSTCO run this morning around 9:30. COSTCO is about 1/2 mile from the protest site.
When I got back to my car, there were two large trucks (one was an F-250) parked by me and the occupants seemed to be getting prepped for a counter-protest. Two men and a woman and some sort of pitbull mix. Their tshirts said “We The People”, “Liberty or Death”, and the third shirt had a rainbow on it and something about Democrats.
My next stop was Trader Joe’s, which would take me past the protest site. Along the way is a big Raytheon complex. They had American flags out for Flag Day but no more visible security than usual.
I drove past the protest and saw approximately 40-50 people; most appeared to be Tesla protesters with some younger white folks included. They were holding signs but huddling in the shade under trees several feet from the sidewalk. It was 82° and sunny and it was only 9:30AM. To be fair, the protest wasn’t scheduled to start for another 30 minutes but I had to finish shopping and get home to mow my lawn. I’m sure those protesters will lecture D-Day survivors about taking risks.

re: The Anarchist Cookbook

I bought several books from Paladin Press but never the Cookbook. One of them had a recipe for gunpowder using 3 common chemicals and that worked but you could go into a sporting goods store and store or gun ship and buy a big can of gunpowder without any hassle so what was the point?
I got a kick out of a series of revenge books written by a guy who called himself George Hayduke. They were mostly pranks, basically, like placing a newspaper ad for a garage sale at your enemy’s house and encouraging early birds.
The same folks sold things like waterproof cannon fuse - make your own fun where there is none.

re: Is it only retards that get in car accidents?
Posted by BobABooey on 6/10/25 at 9:04 pm
I was stopped at a light and a woman drove onto the street from a parking lot and hit my car. I can only imagine she was distracted because it was so avoidable. Anyway, I got out to get her insurance info and the driver was deaf. She spoke like deaf people speak.
I went back to my car and told my ex-wife the other driver was retarded. She went and spoke with her and said I was right.
Maybe your theory is fact!

re: 1st Amendment Audits. What’s your opinion?

Second of all, even if there is goading, so what? All these cops need to do to not be goaded is walk away and leave the auditor alone.
Police are fine with goading Americans to break the law (e.g., prostitution stings, aggressive undercover drug sales, plot to kidnap Governor Whitman, etc) but have a problem when a citizen puts them in a situation where the cop is tempted to break the law.
Police shouldn’t be allowed to mute their cameras, which happens often in bodycam videos.
I like Jeff Gray - Honor Your Oath videos. Military veteran who has run into some real winners. When he sues, he asks for amounts like $1,776.

re: People waving Mexican flags protesting the punishment of being sent back to Mexico

Many of these people claim they fled their countries to seek asylum in the U.S. because they faced persecution in their home countries. They didn’t challenge the government or law enforcement in their home countries. But they come to America and suddenly become brave freedom fighters in a country where they are lawbreakers and truly deserve to face some sort of justice.

Very nice job, as usual. The paint job is next level. Are those a couple of .50 cal shells by the window?
I listened to some programs about D-Day from each side’s perspective over the last couple of days and a German talked about unsuccessfully trying to deploy their Goliaths. I had never heard of a Goliath and I found this description below. Supposedly, the Germans got the idea from some prototype they captured while overrunning France. The story I listened to said they couldn’t get them started so they were a non-factor on D-Day.
Looks like Tamiya has a neat little kit with a Goliath.

It was a diminutive tracked vehicle about 1.5m long that could carry up to 60kg of light explosives and was remotely controlled via 3 cables that spooled out of its rear. Some 7,564 were produced in all, split between 12V battery and gas engine-powered variants. They were largely deployed by assault pioneer (Sturmpionier) units, and were hoped to give the advantage of surprise. They were used on all fronts including German counters to the allied invasions in Normandy.

Servicemen after WW2 were given great respect.
We used to hitchhike between Covington and Madisonville in the 1970’s. It was so common for us, I can only remember one ride. A guy picked us up in a truck and he had a decal on the vehicle or something in the cab and we asked what it meant and he said he fought in Vietnam. Being young boys, one of us asked if he killed anyone. He said it wasn’t all about that kind of thing and he went to serve his country when asked.
He was a good dude we never would have met if we didn’t hitchhike.

In a joking way, bring up the anniversary of Killdozer. Say how that guy sure must have been mad to do such a thing. But keep it light; don’t want to scare the guy.

I understand her anger at not getting special treatment. Imagine being elected or appointed to some public position in Louisiana, you try to use your power for shady purposes, and someone says “That’s it! - we’ve put up with this too long! Corruption in Louisiana ends here and it ends now!”
