ESPN's Heather Dinich and Paul Finebaum appeared on 'Get Up' Monday morning and talked about LSU's week 1 matchup at Clemson to kick off the 2025 College Football Season.

While Finebaum didn't reveal his pick for the matchup, Dinich went with Clemson to win. Per On3:
quote:

“Clemson will beat LSU in the season opener and be a serious contender for the national title,” Heather Dinich said. “I say that because Clemson is loaded. They return 80 percent of their production from last year, more than any team in the FBS.”

“Cade Klubnik will be better,” Dinich said. “He’s got another season under his belt with offensive coordinator Garrett Riley. He’s coming off one of the best seasons in school history and has his top three receivers returning.”
quote:

“I don’t think there’s any question that LSU at Clemson is the game that we’ll be locked into,” Finebaum said. “There’s so many Shakespearean stories connected to that game. If Clemson loses, it will only be their fourth straight SEC loss. It’s kind of hard to claim you’re a big-time program when you can’t beat the SEC. And conversely, Brian Kelly, we’ve talked about it all week. If he loses that game, the drama intensifies.”

LSU hasn’t won a season opener since 2019. Hopefully that ends at Clemson but they do have a really good team and they’re home.

I think week 1 both defenses steal the show and we will enjoy a slugfest defined by play in the trenches and corners.
The winner will be the team that does the better job of controlling the line at the point of attack.
If LSU can run the ball 20 times at an average better than 3.5 ypc, they will win 21-13.
If we can't run on their defense we could be in for a long day.
Which is basically the key to every football game played in the past 40 years lol.

Unless we get a defensive or ST score or win the TO battle by 3, our best chance is a shoot out. Our offense, particularly passing game, will be our strength this year. Kelly hasn't put a good top to bottom defense together yet. This should be a pretty good game, but it's likely that we struggle to slow their offense down most of the game.

It's the summer before the anointing of Joey B. He told everyone what we had. They mocked him.

We ain't saying nuttin this go round. But, we may have a running game. We may have an OL. We may have a DL. We may have a near bout pass game to 2019's. We may have a QB that's gone shock the world. The similarities are there. I'm just saying...

I will be laughing at this lady when we win.

CBK circled this game a long time ago. He also told everybody that they will see us in the national championship game this year.

I hate to bring this up, but LSU has lost five straight season openers. Can they break the curse? I hope so.

Meh…past performance has no effect on future results. Different players and different coaches.

if we lose it won't be on Kelly. it will be on no continuity on the o line and back end of the defense. hes recruited both spots hard and hit both in the portal as much as humanly possible. hes got the game circled hes going to do his part, its time for some of these players to step up and take a game by the throat

Nobody knows what to expect. Our o-line should have owned USC in Vegas. Win or lose it does not define the season but it definitely sets a tone. This year o-line needs to buckle up and open holes in order to slow the pass rush. Who knows what we will look like on D? They may hang 50 on us or they may get Perked

Clemson vs the SEC is usually a problem for them. I’m not buying the Clemson hype. Yea, they’ll have a good record but that’s because of playing wake, duke, unc, Boston college and shite like that every week.

Clemsons strength is pass rush and cornerback play. Nuss is great as long as he isn't pressured in which case he's prone to shut the bed.So unless LSU can find a reliable running game,I expect Clemson to dominate the time of possession and Daboo to out coach our red exploding headed Coach( I mean what kind of dope runs around SEC Media week telling everyone how they have really targeted THIS game? Clemson 28 , LSU 21
