At home due to working 3-11 shift. Woke up to this and immediately thought about not having to go to work, a possible draft, going to war and other crazy shite. Then I enjoyed a cup of coffee with some cold tacos from the bell the night before and realized that nothing has changed in my little world.
If I enter my area, it’ll tell me to hunt elsewhere.

Hehehe. Songy’s biggest backer.
Sliced bread on Brobible probably shot it to 1 after the Fisher meltdown?

Bad year for wild vines. Didn’t see any on my multiple trips down Powell station road.
Renowned Cherry Ridge guide, Rick Hall calls em in with a Montana lite herding dog whistle. Saw it first hand too.
They actually have a drumstick, go ahead and dress the entire bird and go with the recipe from Hackberry rod & gun club…Guy’s pot roasted ducks. You won’t be disappointed.
They’re dwindling fast around False River too. The season should coincide with teal not squirrel.

Dirty spaghetti turned out great and we killed 98 mourning doves, 3 white wings, 1 collared and 1 pigeon total. Now we’re killing white cans and most of us will be looking for a big television with a football game playing on it. Good times indeed!

I managed to get 9 birds and don’t want to talk about how many shells that took. Mike C. Is going to get the MVP trophy today, he limited out at 7:20 using a beat up full choked 12 gauge Ithaca 37 with less than a box of high brass 6’s. I’m about to dirty a big cast iron pot with cut up rabbits and chicken thighs while a handful of diehards are still in the field looking for 15. Good times are being had!

From 6:25 to 6:50 was nice, sky has gotten stale now. We’ll see.
Except when replacing the battery and having to remove the rear seat.

Louisiana dove hunt
Ventress, LA
Harvested soybean field
75 degrees, partly cloudy with 2mph NE wind
Remington 1100LT20, modified choke with #8 lead

Waiting on 6:14am to load shells and begin blasting. I gotta shoot what I can by 9 because I’ve been drafted to cook lunch under the pecan trees. Rabbit and chicken dirty spaghetti (my first rodeo on this meal), wish me luck. Good luck to all chasing the birds today!

Definitely a tall, young folks layout.

Had the hangover burger at the Zachary location a few weeks back and it’ll do for what it is.

Real promising for tomorrow morning in Pointe Coupee parish. Standing under the pecan tree I’m cooking under tomorrow right now watching doves fly across the field. Should be a hell of a shoot tomorrow!
Sell your friend the later model. Keep that plain IC barreled one.
