Blake Brockermeyer of CBS Sports recently ranked the Top 10 Quarterback Rooms for the 2026 College Football Season and slotted LSU's group at No. 6 on the list.

6. LSU Tigers
Lane Kiffin has had a strong reputation for developing quarterbacks throughout most of his coaching career, and this season should be no different.

Sam Leavitt is coming off an injury and somewhat of a down season in 2025, but his 2024 tape was excellent. His athletic ability as a runner is elite, and I expect a major rebound season from him if he is healthy.

Kiffin also got Husan Longstreet to hit the portal, giving LSU a strong Plan B if Leavitt is not fully healthy. Longstreet, a former five-star prospect from USC, got 44 reps last season and was able to get his feet wet. He is also a legitimate long-term solution for the Tigers as a dual-threat quarterback.
Here are the top 10 quarterback rooms in college football, according to Brockermeyer:
1. Oregon
2. Texas
3. Utah
4. Ole Miss
5. Ohio State
6. LSU
7. USC
8. Miami
9. Houston
10. Notre Dame

QB room? Shouldn’t that include all QB’s? Ole Miss? Utah?

Honestly, I can't imagine LSU doesn't have a top 3 QB room, even without considering who their coaches are going to be. #Listsucks

USC quarterback room. I'm not sure who their starter is, all I know is that Zachariah Branch transferred to UGA because he grew tired sharing the weight room with the women's volleyball team and the men's water polo team. One year, drafted by the Falcons.

Who are the 2nd and 3rd team QB's behind Flonase Chambliss that give Ole Miss a highly ranked QB "Room" like that?

I think Longstreet is legit. By the end of spring he was doing pretty dang good.

As a Georgia fan, the ranking of the QB room is greatly dependent on the ranking of the WR room. Georgia probably has a top 5 TE room, which will dictate the type of offense they run.

Texas paid for the best WR in my opinion, getting Coleman from Auburn.

Miami, Utah, Houston don't play defenses of SEC caliber and can show off.

LSU has the highest potential TE in the country in Green. They didn't exactly get scrubs at WR in the portal either. Clearly that's not the criteria used here. Unless you're saying this list is meaningless without TE/WRs in which yes, that's true.

OK. Maybe Ole Miss. Heck, I’m not sold on USC or anyone after St. Clair at OSU

Definitely not Utan

There is also the ranking of the offensive line.

Arch Manning is a pocket passer. Fast SEC linebackers will eat his lunch. *cough*.

Trinidad Chambliss had a worse offensive line, he was not tall enough, not big enough, but damn he could scramble enough to give his receivers time to get open. I enjoyed watching him. I'm not familiar with the other QB's in their room.
