Someone explain it to me like I’m 8. How can the NCAA rule him ineligible then an ole miss grad judge can just say “nah, I say he’s eligible.”? Why can’t the NCAA come back with “well we’ve ruled him ineligible so if he plays you get to forfeit if you win.”

Fun fact and csb. The WFL Houston Texans and Shreveport Steamers weren’t in the league at the same time. The Texans were an inaugural WFL team but nobody went to their games in the astrodome so they moved to Shreveport the same year and became the Steamers. Shreveport also had a semi pro team later called the Shreveport Americans. This team was not affiliated with the Birmingham Americans of the WFL. A few years after the Shreveport Americans or league folded, I was going to play pickup basketball at Huntington High where I went to school and there were a bunch of dudes playing football in full pads on the HHS practice field. It was guys who used to play for the Shreveport Americans who kept all their practice and game gear. They asked me and a few of my friends if we wanted to play because they needed more players. I ended up playing with those guys every weekend for a few months. Good times and lots of pain.

On another note, I’ve been going to LSU and road SEC games since 1975. Arkansas fans are the worst. The gulf coast fan bases are all about the same. Vandy fans for decades were harmless because they had nothing to thump their chests about.
