NY Daily News Columnist Rips Nick Saban Calls Him A “Clueless Coward” for not speaking out against R
Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports
New York Daily News columnist Chuck Modiano went in hard on Alabama head coach Nick Saban on Thursday. Like really hard. Here are just a few highlights of Modiano's column titled "Nick Saban is a clueless, gutless, selfish coward for his silence on Roy Moore"...
quote:

Saban’s shining career moment to show true leadership and humanity.

By remaining silent on the numerous allegations that Moore was a pedophile, Saban showed he does not care about the plight or protection of young women and girls.
quote:

By remaining silent on Moore’s romanticization of slavery, Saban showed he does not care about the plight or opinions of so many young black men who produce his unearned salary.

I hate this kind of shite. So Saban doesnt comment on politics? Big deal.

maybe Saban believes in due process or maybe he's not a knee jerk reaction kind of man. Maybe he's a real boy and not a puppet.

Saban is a Democrat who probably donated to Jones' campaign. As long as he voted in the election that's all he needs to do (and who knows if he didn't write in his own name!)

Saban was too busy working to take sides in Washington’s fiasco, where it’s all talk and no work.

Why is Saban expected to comment? Is he a politician? A reporter? A pundit? An overrated op ed columnist? No. He's a football coach who is busy doing his actual job: preparing his team for the playoffs. Jesus Christ I hate the libtard media.

He is the highest paid public servant in the state of Alabama. Should have to do more than run a modern day slave plantation and hoist worthless trophies.

WTF... Saban has never really commented on politics that I know of, but people say he is a democrat. Why does this person expect Saban to comment on politics? He is a football coach. Even if he did comment on politics no one should give a damn he is just a football coach...

There's way too many people in this world talking out their asses. Singers/actors talking about social/economic issues. Politicians talking about sports. I respect Saban more if he talks about what he knows and remains silent about what he doesn't. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

Yeah, so what if he had spoken out against Moore and that had motivated Auburn fans to support Moore, thereby tipping the election in his favor? If this author doesn't think football is taken that seriously in alabama, then he is the clueless one.

I thought auburn fans were actually going to get Saban elected to try and get him out of Tuscaloosa. But he only got 5k I think

At least half or more of those votes were most certainly Auburn fans.

cannot believe I'm defending Saban..... he's a coach not a politician....ask him about football, ask him about NCAA stuff....theres plenty of pertinent questions to call him out on.

Completely consistent with Progressive "values"-we are all part of an Identity Group, and we must wage endless war against each other until every single American Principle, Ideal, Tradition and Institution is transformed into something that would please Marx.

Well said. For them, nothing should be free from politics, because life itself is a political struggle to destroy bourgeois society.

Yes, politics should color every aspect of our lives and nothing should be free of political statements and posturing. /s

Why the frick would Nick Saban—a fricking football coach— have to chime in on a senate election?

“Saban’s shining career moment to show true leadership and humanity.“ Lol, dude has what 5 NCs and makes almost 10 mil a year. But his career moment was going to be discussing the loser in a senate race?

Maybe ESPN can get Roy Moore to discuss how Alabama can stop the Clemson offense in the Sugar Bowl.
