Details are on reddit and they're fricking disgusting
Modern mainstream rap is either boilerplate bullshite ghostwritten by the same 3 artists, or it's hyper-violent gobbledegook about "smoking on that ____ pack" made by rappers who are dead or marked for death by the time anyone knows their name.

Social media ruined rap, imo, by 1) homogenizing regional dialects, slang, and culture to the point that everyone under 30 talks the same now and 2) by promoting Chicago gang culture like some kind of salacious Netflix series.

Thus, a genre that supplanted rock for 20 years in terms of popularity and cultural relevance is dying because no one wants to hear shite like this

2025 XXL Freshman Cypher

He did the same thing at ND. What an unlikable prick.
It would be Plauche:30 for me too

Better than the rumors floating around about Hamilton Christian Academy in LCH.

Hadn't heard about that. Searched for the school name + reddit, and I wish I hadn't.

El Chico was the best…you could rave all night to techno then get fried ice cream when the sun came up

Care to elaborate? I'm younger than most of the board, so I missed out on (but am fascinated by) the 80s/90s BR party scene. Rolling all night and eating fried ice cream for breakfast at a Mexican joint sounds like a great time as a degenerate college kid
Apparently someone ran onto campus after fleeing a traffic stop.

Videos from concertgoers were uploaded within minutes, shaky footage filled with flashes of light and automatic gunfire. Soon the theory emerged - there must have been more than one shooter.

This happened. I saw a clip just like that. It seemed to be near the stage, like the camera person was hiding and filming at the same time. Then you see someone run across the screen from right to left with their arms out as if brandishing a rifle, and then you see bright flashes and hear rapid rifle fire.

There were also clips of different POVs from around the casino, such as the valet area, where you can clearly hear several distinct calibers of guns being fired at the same time, with different "tones" and cadences- clearly not just an echo effect.

I and a few friends were all over the net for a few days watching videos that have since been memory-holed. I've always been convinced there was more than one shooter that night.
What would Kelly's time here have looked like, so far? It feels like that win over Saban is his one irrefutable moment of greatness in 4 years.

A Heisman is great and all, but JD5 won the award in spite of Kelly and his staff, not because of him.

Had BK fallen flat on his face in OT against Bama year 1, what does his relationship with the fan base look like today?

You think he’s laughed at more than coach O was?

Miles and O were both media darlings, until the game passed them by. There was a bit of a freak show element in the media's coverage of both coaches, what with the funny hat, grass eating, and goofy accents, but the media loved Miles and O at LSU.

Kelly? He isn't likable or funny enough to gloss over his deficiencies like Miles and O were. He's an a-hole, yet he isn't successful enough to play the Saban "I'm an a-hole, but any school would kill to have me" card.

And then, more perplexingly than anything else, he lacks the self-awareness and self-control to just stfu. Coach speak exists for a reason. Answer the media's questions without saying too much of anything, because you don't want to tip your hand, throw your players under the bus, give an opponent bulletin board material, set yourself up to eat crow, etc., etc. Kelly does all that shite. Punching tables, Fam Ugh Lee, Tik Toks with decommits, "Judge me on year 3," "See y'all in the natty," etc., etc.

His ego is too big to just shut up and coach, and he's so arrogant that he thinks he's the smartest guy in the room, even after rushing for 50-something yds against the worst rush D in the conference.

tldr: despite Miles and O's cartoonish personas, Kelly is a laughing stock on an entirely different level. And that's before talking hardware.

The times of being passionate about CFB is long gone. The times of feeling good about these kids playing the game for the right reasons is gone. The time of thinking these kids came here because of said passion and to play under the lights in TS is gone. The times of realizing they’re only here for the money and will leave for a few dollars more if they wish is all that’s left. RIP. greatest sport ever.

Well-said
The first things I go for are odd VHS tapes. I feel about VHS the way lots of people my age feel about vinyl, plus they're 10 cents a piece. Recently, I actually found a Bloomberg for Mayor tape from '01 that had $100 in twenties hidden in the slipcase.

My favorite things to find thrifting (other than bribe money) are old broadcast recordings with the commercials intact. For example, I have the '97 and '98 Miss America pageants, both live from Shreveport, with commercials that anyone who grew up in da Pohht City would've grown up watching. They're time capsules that show exactly what the world looked like for someone, somewhere, a long time ago. I think that's really cool.

I also grab lava lamps, cool vintage clothing or unworn dress shirts, vintage electronics, and really any vintage media that looks intriguing.
Glad to see people are catching on

I've been getting flack for calling him a turncoat pussy ever since he about-faced on FSU
College sports in particular seem to generate a lot of ephemera and quirky low-production-number collectibles

I've gotten some awesome, really rare LSU stuff over the years from both ebay and local yard, garage, and estate sales.

I have a framed promotional 1970 schedule by Canadian Club Whisky that I can't find a pic of anywhere online. Paid $50 on ebay years ago. (Will try to post a pic later)

Then there's this: a Jim Hawthorne bobblehead with a built-in speaker that plays a recording of the Warren Morris homer (pic not mine). Paid I think $20 on ebay.

When he wiped the fond out of the pot, O looked like he wanted to strangle him
at Broadmoor Middle School in Shreveport

My 3rd hour computer teacher's in-law worked in the WTC. When we got to her class, she had the TV on and was on-and-off the phone with her husband, trying to see if the relative was safe. As I was walking in, she announced to the class that "terrorists [had] attacked the World Trade Center." I remember thinking, "What's a terrorist, and what's the World Trade Center?"

We sat and watched the news for the rest of the class, watching the towers fall on loop, everyone just sort of quiet. The in-law eventually got in touch to say she had made it out. By the start of 4th period, the rest of the school knew.

Because it's Broadmoor, in the otherwise silent halls between classes that day, there were black kids yelling stuff like, "We going to war, n!gga," and, "USA in this bitch!"

Levity, and evidence of Americans' tendency to unite when it's time to whip some arse
