Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian is casting doubt on a planned home-and-home series between his program and Notre Dame...
quote:

“Honestly, truthfully, I would love to keep Notre Dame on our schedule,” Sarkisian said in a guest spot on The Triple Option podcast.

“…But I’m not going to do it at the expense of my first responsibility, and that’s to the University of Texas of fielding a great team and putting a team into a position to go win a championship, because that’s my responsibility as the head coach here.”

“What’s going to happen to the CFP? That’s the hard part,” Sarkisian said. “Is it going to expand? Are we going to go to 16? Are we going to go to 24? And then, is that maybe going to entice us back into keeping those nonconference games? Because right now, it’s a little bit of a flux.”

It would look bad losing to ND after Aggies went up there and took care of business. No win situation for Sark.

He can't beat OSU or Georgia. No need to add another team he can't beat.

Playoffs don’t need expansion.

Back out if you want, but don’t blame it on something else…

Texas A&M had no problem playing Notre Dame home and home.

FO aggy, we have the hardest schedule in the country this year. The only reason y'all made the playoffs is your easy schedule. ND is the only win you had that was worth anything. And that was lucky and a terrible call. You lost your only 2 hard games. Us and Miami...

Now ain't that the pot calling the kettle black! Texass been playing a weak arse schedule since joining the SEC and every coach in the SEC has said something about it. And how many titles has that netted them since joining? Texas was supposed to play LSU in Death Valley in 2020, but after the shellacking that was 2019, Texass has been dodging LSU harder than Trump dodges Epstein questions!

We play oihio state this year you functional retard. Also, shocking how little football knowledge you have. The sec cancelled the texas-lsu game because of covid and the decision to only play conference games that year.
You might want to do your homework before running your mouth so you don’t look so goddamn stupid.

Comments saying he's weak etc, but he is just speaking reality. Other programs are backing out of big time non-conference games as well. With a 9 team SEC schedule, it doesn't pay to add tough OOC game. Remember, the CFP selection committee hasn't really factored in strength of schedule. In fact, no one knows what metrics they use.

bullshite. This wasn’t a “problem” pushing for this kind of response when it was just 2 teams but it is when there are 12?

CFP without SOS is weak. 4 team BCS with SOS was just fine.

Dear Sark,
Beat the teams you are supposed to beat. Also, figuring out how to beat UGA or OSU would help.
