Anonymous Nashville High School Coach Rips Jeremy Pruitt To Shreds
© Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports
Now that Tennessee has moved on from Jeremy Pruitt as their head coach, David Ubben at The Athletic wanted to see what high school coaches around the state really thought of him. One anonymous coach was ready to talk openly. Per The Athletic...
quote:

“Pruitt, that guy, I had nothing to do with him,” the coach said. “I saw him one time over here. I’ll leave it at that. He told one of our kids who played for him, who started a lot of games for him, that he couldn’t win with kids from our school and needed some dogs from Georgia. I was not a big fan at all. He didn’t think he could win with Tennessee kids, and it’s true that you can’t win with just Tennessee kids, but you better get the best from here, and there’s plenty you can get. He didn’t do that.

“And to be honest with you, I thought he was a low-class human being. We had kids on that team, we had managers, and just the stories about him, he didn’t sound like someone I’d really want to have anything to do with.”

Sounds like the headline should read “Anonymous Nashville High School Coach butthurt that Jeremy Pruitt articulates why Tennessee Football sucks”

Hands down the dumbest head coach in the history of the SEC. And he had lots of competition.

Most high school football coaches are redneck idiots - their rants should always be taken with a grain of salt

If you are going to spew crap about someone, then it should never be printed or posted anonymously.

Tennessee HS football isn’t great - can’t argue with Pruitt on this topic - they needed GA more than instate kids.

Sounds like bullshite that the coach made up. "I demanded a staff position if I delivered a kid to the Vols and I'm pissed that didn't happen." -- That's probably more like it.

“ He told one of our kids who played for him, who started a lot of games for him, that he couldn’t win with kids from our school and needed some dogs from Georgia.” He went 16-19, so I’m not sure how this statement is controversial.

If you are telling the truth, there would be no need for anonymity. Not saying Pruitt wasn't like that, but dragging someone's name through the dirt while not revealing your own speaks volumes for your own character.

"If you are telling the truth, there would be no need for anonymity." Telling the truth is the quickest way to death.

@3down10. This isn't the Salem Witch Trials or the Inquisition. This is a reporter getting a story no one is currently asking about, about a coach who was fired 8 months ago, from people who won't give their names. If he was asking about their political views or where they stand on the corona virus pandemic regarding masks, sure, keep it anonymous.

Those coaches were given anonymity so they WOULD talk, it’s not like they went shopping for a reporter to do a story. U guys obviously didn’t read the story or didn’t comprehend what was written in it.

"One anonymous coach was ready to talk openly."...well done braveheart...that's no different than posting from a username on TD....oh wait...

Yeah, not sure how “anonymous” and “openly” work together in that sentence. And there’s nothing like an anonymous source of secondhand information.

Agree, if you’re going to blast him, then say please put my name on it. If you’re scared don’t say anything
