Originally, Lorenzo Carter was going to be at LSU-Bama next weekend, till they changed the game time to 8pm. Can't find a hotel for miles & miles.

He'll now be in Athens for Appy. St. game.

Which of the 5 star beast on our board do we have an actual shot at?

Do we keep Michel?

UGA needs to finish strong in recruiting because last year was an absolute bust on landing top players in state.

We keep Michel. Looks better for Carter, especially UF tanks te rest of the season and Muschamp is fired or on thin ice. McMillan is gone. Sharpe is an outside shot. Evans is a strong possibility but Auburn is a big worry. I feel less confident about Malone by the day.

All in all, close with Carter/Evans and another DB and I'll consider it a pretty damn good class.

I don't get it either, buddy. How some of these kids turn their back on their state is beyond me.

Sounds to me like they don't want to give their bodies for UGA.

The fact the kids were born in this state means that they have no right to look elsewhere? Maybe it isn't the kids? Maybe there is a common denominator?

And idk, if I am a football recruit and I saw the bucknuts gut the nittany lions in the shoe I'd be pretty psyched about going there too. We're acting like tOSU is some shite hole

Not only this, but GA produces 250-300 kids each year who go on to play for FBS schools. When you can only sign 25, it makes it tough to "close the borders" - especially when most of the schools who have won MNCs in the last 7 years border your state.

AND your state is #4 in talent-production in the nation.

EXACTLY. And hell, this isn't the same as kids in LA or AL or w/e. As we all know as populated as the state is and as many people who came from elsewhere that now live here you cannot expect these kids to just want to be Dawgs. It's an advantage that they are in our state and it's up to our staff to convince them Georgia is their best option.

So as Buck knows I wanna say, that's on the staff and not the kids.

LSU comes to mind as a great example of a "close the borders" school - not just because it's the only Power 5 school in the state, but because the university has established a culture and a track record of it just being a given that you'll want to play for the Tigers if you grew up there. The MNC never hurts, but if there's an expectation that the best recruits come there, ESPECIALLY when the ESPN 300 and Top 247 kids stay in state, then it sustains its own fire.

Totally on the coaches to develop a culture of excellence. Expelling half of the Dream Team '10 might not be in keeping with that sort of culture.

And, for the most part, the families that live in LA, have lived there for generations. It's not exactly a transplant state so the kids have grown up Tiger fans and have done nothing but dreamed of wearing purple and gold their entire lives. Something that is and will be very difficult to do in Georgia.

Okay well someone needs to explain this shite to me. How does Tennessee have 29 commits and we have 17? is our ranking even gonna go up? I thought you could only get so many? How do some teams get away with over signing players?

We signed 33 and enrolled 31 last year. It is because of back counting.
