Yea, I remember thinking in HS that they were all smoke shows from the porn I was watching. Get to the real world and it's anything but.

Irrelevent? I suggest you read more books on the subject opposed to forming an opinion based on one.

"A study done for Secretary of War Henry Stimson's staff by William Shockley estimated that conquering Japan would cost 1.7–4 million American casualties, including 400,000–800,000 fatalities, and five to ten million Japanese fatalities. The key assumption was large-scale participation by civilians in the defense of Japan"
In addition, the Japanese had organized the Patriotic Citizens Fighting Corps, which included all healthy men aged 15 to 60 and women 17 to 40 for a total of 28 million people, for combat support and, later, combat jobs. Weapons, training, and uniforms were generally lacking: some men were armed with nothing better than muzzle-loading muskets, longbows, or bamboo spears; nevertheless, they were expected to make do with what they had.[26

Japan was already about to surrender,
Don't think so, in fact I think every civilian was trained and highly motivated to fight to the death if the US stepped foot on the Jap mainland.

How did you feel about Truman dropping nukes on innocent children?
R. McNamara stated that they all could have been labeled war criminals in the "Fog of war" with the fire bombings of Japan, but that he'd take that label if it meant saving GI lives. Wish he took that mindset in the other war he participated in.
That's neither here nor there.

I was just stating the obvious. I haven't even expressed my personal opinions.

Now I know he was Auburn through and through, but when you take up arms in the name of Allah against your own country then it doesn't really make you safer.
Anybody think Auburn will hold a halftime ceremony for him during the Iron Bowl?

It sounds like the US got him with a drone strike, but they are saying it was rivals Al Shabob.
Did any of you guys know him? I know he was a big time Auburn fan, and use to go to a lot of games. Anybody ever see him? Know anyone that knew him? I'll never forget watching that documentary where they showed his message on a Jihadist message board that said "war eagle, time for Jihad yall" I know it's not a funny thing, but I laughed pretty damn hard.
