MLK HS CB Wesley Green (former SC commit) says there are no front-runners to his recruitment any longer, and that USCjr is "not the team to beat for me right now."

quote:

“I am hearing from Georgia. They are telling me how well I would fit into their program and how bad they want me,” he said.

Right now Green says he has no timetable for a decision on his college choice.

“I am not really sure. I am still talking to my dad about it,” he said. "I am not just real sure about it. ... I am looking at will I be able to get a job after football, my degree from that school, knowing the coaches truly care about me and will put me on the field. I want a school that is going to help me better myself for the future.”

You go over 25 by backcounting the kids that enroll early in the previous year's class that had holes in it.

Example: On NSD 2012, UGA had 20 kids sign LOIs. 18 qualified and enrolled, 2 did not. (Leonard Floyd and Chris Mayes). Flo and Mayes went to prep school and joined the 2013 class. Since there were 7 spots left, so only 5 of the Early Enrollees counted toward '13s 25. 18 in 2012 + 7 EEs in '13 = 25 for UGA's 2012 class.

I believe we're looking at ~22 for 2014 because they expect DeVondre Seymour and Rico Johnson to come out of prep school and enroll in the '14 class.

So how is TN already at 29? That only is committing though right? TN can only sign 25

If a team does not reach the scholarship cap of 25 in a given year then the next year if the recruit qualifies to enroll early a team can back count that to the previous year bc technically the year doesn't start until August. So if they only signed 17 players last year then they can sign around 33 players the next year if it doesn't go over the max 85 scholarahip limit.

TN's at 29 the same way we were at 32 last year. Some of the kids are likely enrolling early, so they'll count toward this past February's NSD # of 25. I'll look up UT's class in a second.

UT had 23 last year, with 5 EEs which took them down to 18. This gives them +7 for 2014. Interestingly enough, Son of Dooley's lackluster recruiting resulted in some of the kids having been backcounted to 2012's 19 (plus 6 EEs which went on *2011*'s class of 20 + 6, and the band plays on...)

Didn't we give up on him some time ago? Or is the Oxford ATM at work again?

We hadn't been recruiting him as hard as Wesley Green. I don't know if we'd given up though

Apparently, on offense, the only placard left has Josh Malone's name on it at the moment. He is an EE so that would be huge, numbers wise since I don't think any others are at the moment.
