Why does everyone on the Crystal ball think Carter is a Bama lock? I figured since Florida looks to be influx and we OBVIOUSLY need defensive help that he would come to UGA with relatively little push...but apparently I missed where Bama came in and took over his recruiting?

When it comes to the crystal ball, only pay attention to the 247 national guys and the 247 team insiders for the schools involved. Most of the predictions are just random bloggers and people like that.
Most of the Bama predictions for Carter started because he's from Norcross, which Bama has owned recently.
We're in a battle with them, UF, and FSU right now. Tough to predict.
Eta- also on the crystal ball, look at trends. School A might have 75% of the predictions, but if school B has the most recent 10, school B should probably be considered the favorite.

Is Carter an EE?
No. He'll commit on NSD or close to it.

So part of the question is, is Saban the sort of person that would wait till after NSD to make a decision (or at least an announcement) that he was leaving Bama, were he to take the job at Texas in the interest of preserving a monster recruiting class to will on to the next HC?
OR does he announce after the final BCSNCG (assuming he leaves) and takes kids to Austin with him?

He would need to announce he was leaving ASAP in order to recruit at Texas.
I wouldn't get your hopes up on him leaving though.

This is a 2015 story, but worth looking at nonetheless - 5* OT Mitch Hyatt says that UGA is recruiting him the hardest, out of Clemson, Auburn, Mizzou & Florida (I think. Don't feel like going back through 247's interview because the girl doing the questions is an idiot). Coach BMac working on another great one!

He's going to be a tough one to get but I'd love to have him and then the 2016 kid who already looks like Tony Mandarich.

As mentioned earlier, Alvin Kamara is having some issues at Bama. A blessing in disguise? Playing time issues a few weeks ago and now behavioral issues? It’s going to be tough to sell Bama to his former Norcross teammate LoCarter with all of this drama

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- Alabama freshman running back Alvin Kamara is not with the team this week because of behavioral reasons, coach Nick Saban said Wednesday.
Saban did not elaborate on the reasons behind Kamara's absence and did not provide a timetable for his return. Kamara was last spotted during a media viewing session at Thursday's practice, the final session before players were free to go home for the bye weekend.
A four-star prospect from Norcross, Ga., Kamara has yet to play and is anticipated to redshirt the season along with fellow freshman running back Tyren Jones. Kamara, one of four running backs signed in the 2013 class, was sidelined for multiple weeks near the end of preseason camp after he underwent a knee scope.
Saban was optimistic about Kamara's potential when he evaluated his progress in mid-August.
"He was doing extremely well," Saban said. "He’s going to be a really good player and this is not something that would supersede us continuing to try to use him this year if he can come back and learn while he’s not out there and be able to continue to develop by learning from other people’s mistakes watching film."

Thanks for that confirmation, Glory! I thought the murmurs were a little oddly specific to be unfounded.
