And the complaining from this board as a result would be the most aggy thing ever. There was already a lot of bitching and moaning last season when it looked like we were going to make the tournament.

Yeah we will make the tournament this year. There's too much talent on the squad and impact seniors not to. But we will underachieve in the tournament. And then hyman gives him a salary bump and extension.

Absolutely.
I still believe Kennedy should have been let go no later than season 3, but if he actually makes the sweet 16 the contract extension would be well deserved. That said, all evidence points to this being very very very unlikely.

First off,
Second, I wouldn't be that surprised if we made it with this team, and again this is coming from a hardcore "Kennedy sucks!" guy. House is a scoring machine, a couple of the fish can really shoot, and we've got some fish bigs who are ready to contribute out of the box. To make the S16, some of those guys only need to get hot twice in a row to make the S16. Good coaching isn't necessarily required. Far crazier things have happened.
Now winning 26 or 27 in the regular season, which would require a consist and prolonged high level of play, and quality coaching? No way. But the S16? Yea, it could happen, even with Kennedy at the helm. He's solidly below average, but worse coaches have made the round of 16.
With our OOC schedule, I'm calling 20-22 regular season wins and an 9-12 seed in the tournament.
