I'm not about to back away from this just because of a fluke win vs. Gonzaga.

The arena was rocking when the drunk ran the show. The problem is he was replaced by an a-hole, who left and was replaced by a bad coach.

Basically when Turgeon left the program was where USCe's football program is now: historically terrible but on an upswing. Just like them now the hire after Turgeon defined our program, and we cheaped out and didn't go for Buzz. At this point the momentum is lost

This. We actually had a great home crowd that packed the arena and tore the roof off the joint with noise and energy when Billy Clyde was coach. All of this stuff about Aggies being incapable of being good basketball fans is nonsense. We supported Billy hard core. Then he left us and we replaced him with a guy who never wanted to be at A&M, couldn't have cared less about the fans, resented us, really, was jealous of Billy, played a boring style of ball, and just, sort of, barely, maintained what Billy had built. The air went out of the program completely when we passed on Buzz. Billy leaving and lifeless Turgeon taking over was a gut-punch, but passing on Buzz just knee-capped the fanbase and most of us gave up.

You have to be pretty thin-skinned to feel this way. Turgeon sucked in the PR area, but he coached his arse off and had a ton of success, by A&M standards. While I wasn't exactly sad to see him go (because I thought we had peaked under him), he's easily one of the best coaches in A&M history

Only because we don't have much BB history to speak of. So sorta just by default, yeah.

I'm certainly not going to put the guy on any sort of pedestal and I stand by everything I said. He resented our fanbase, he was jealous of Billy, his teams slowly regressed, his style of play was so boring that Michael Jackson could have used it as a substitute for Propofol, and he recruited poorly.

He definitely let the wind out of our sails, but we crashed the ship into the rocks ourselves by passing on Buzz.

5/5 on wins
0/1 on losses
1-2 in tossup games

Good game for the young guys to learn.

They were way too damn loose w/the ball (saw most of first and second half while also watching football so wasn't watching as closely as normal) and they also shot like arse. It seemed like JJ was fouling or turning it over every time down there for a block of time. Not going to win many games when you shoot 22% in the first half either.

Been gone a while. This thread is fun. I miss the days when we were either a football school or a basketball school. Now we are neither and it sucks.

Just wait until we lose to Kansas State this weekend and pat twists himself inside out trying to spin it.

We've always lost the next game already according to you.

Side note, you had Gonzaga as a loss in your original predictions, not a tossup.

The original prediction had game 2 as a tossup under the assumption it was going to be Washington

So what you're saying is you want me to change it to reflect that Kennedy has lost every tossup?
