On the one hand, I like watching Texas A&M win football games. It brings me a degree of happiness no matter who we beat.

On the other, watching 90k throw up 120 decibels in a dogfight against a bad team after playing poorly makes me wonder how much our fanbase values GOOD football. LSU had 10k left in the second half tonight. They booed their team in at halftime. They'll fire a coach after 1 year.

Their fans are spoiled brats, but maybe that's what it takes? Maybe we have to hold our teams to such a standard that we empty the building at halftime on nights like tonight.

IDK, just rambling. I liked the 4th quarter defense.

The “demanding” attitude of LSU’s fan base is what got them in this situation. They ran off a consistent 9 win, occasional national championship run coach because of their spoiledness.

I love ya Roger but I just don't get this line of thinking. We support our team. I think a lot of us want a change, but we don't have to go absolutely nuclear on our program to make it happen

I guess I'm tired of getting excited about average football against bad teams.

I want to line up across from a good team and kick their arse for once.

Of course we value good football.

We also like to get loud and support the team.

Not mutually exclusive.

I'm always happy when Kyle gets rowdy. I was grinning like a fool at my TV tonight listening to it.

This.

They fired a guy who won them a natty and at worst was a 9 win coach who never lost an OOC game at home and now only a year later they are a shite football team that has lost to Troy, at night, in "Death Valley." It's not exactly a ringing endorsement for being a "demanding fanbase."

Nothing wrong with demanding success (doesn’t have to be nick saban level either) and wanting a coach who can compete for a conference championship once or twice every 5 years.

But agreed with the posters saying LSU got greedy. Really greedy and it cost them. If you’re going to fire miles fine, but they should’ve had a better hire than orgeron lined up.

Oh no, nothing wrong with demanding success.

That's why I put "demanding fanbase" in quotations because in this context by "demanding" I mean firing Les, making a big, embarrassing show out of how badass you are for doing it, and then having to stoop to hiring Ogeron's stupid arse when everyone knows he's the backup, backup, backup, slump-buster, brownbag special of all time.

We'll get our shite pushed in against Bama.

I was rooting against us 2 weeks ago too but easier said than done. I've found myself rooting hard for the Ags the last 2 weeks regardless of Summy's situation. Here's to everyone playing their arse off the next few weeks.

This team hasn't quit on Sumlin and it simply doesn't quit.

UCLA could have been the spark to a massive implosion but we have come back twice in two weeks to get the win. Granted, we shouldn't have HAD to come back, but those are some nice character building blocks

Kind of proud of this team, and my Different Look 8-4 seems closer to reality. If Sumlin hits 8-4 this year I think he's safe.

Play well next week vs Bama and I think the heat on Sumlin comes down a bit. Get humiliated and it turns up. I can see Saban calling off the dogs mid 3rd up 45-7.

I'm also really impressed at how these kids believe in Sumlin and his coaches

We'll see how they respond after Bama though

Les Miles was never going to win them another championship. Just like Mack Brown the game had passed him up. Notice that even though he’s said he still wants to coach, his phone hasn’t been ringing off the hook, doesn’t that tell you something?

My point is I don’t fault the reasons LSU, tu, even Georgia fired their very successful mostly 9+ win coaches. But if you are going to do it, you need to have a plan and not just throw sh** at a wall to see what sticks. Tu hired strong who was obviously out of his league after halfway through the first season. LSU hires an assistant that has a terrible previous head coaching record. Only Georgia looks to have hired a decent replacement but time will tell on Smart.

There is nothing wrong with us wanting to be more successful than we are, we have the talent base in Texas and the southwest, play against great competition week in and week out in the SEC (most years, not this one however), and have the stadium/facilities/donations to be a big player. So it’s not unreasonable that we want success, you just have to be careful how you go chasing it.

I can't put the period blood A by my screenname. I'm grateful for LSU losing to Troy so I can use theirs to troll them.

I will put Washington instead of Florida after Alabama shuts us out.

I'm calling it right now. Sumlin finds a way to save his job. I don't like it, but I have a feeling it's going to happen.

And to be honest, I'm actually liking how we have a run game now. The best part about this is that the O Line can still (and likely will) get better. But that defense brings us back down to earth.

Once we drop 4 straight, that feeling will go away real fast. We’ve played ok enough against bad competition. That ends this week.

I hate typing this but what if the impossible happens and we lose but don't get blown out?

There was an Aggie attitude of complacency back in the day that needed to change. As students in the 90's we couldn't say anything remotely critical of RC without getting a head-shaking condescending lecture about not knowing how good we had it. The TMF would threaten to take over more of the student section if they didn't show up for the full game every time.

Those old guys were happy just to be bowl eligible most of the time, and beating t.u. for the Cotton Bowl once in a while was all that really mattered to them. That had to change, and it has.

But what fricking good does it do to turn into spoiled fans like LSU or Whorns who leave at halftime if they don't have a big lead and boo their own players? That doesn't sound fun to me. Unless you're some mega-donor or network executive, most of us have zero control over this. You can't let emotional reactions to games turn you into a douchebag.

The funniest part about LSU losing to Troy was knowing how many pathetic dudes had their whole year ruined that night. Don't be that guy.
