Why would we waste time and energy on trying to lure a coach here if we didn't think we could realistically get him? Is it just because we aggy?

No but it would be confirmation that you probably don't want your HC to be a Sexton or CAA client. (which would unfortunately limit options.) Dude is like the Scott Boras of CFB and is always able to get schools to shell out just a little more money even when they have all the leverage.

It’s about money

Plain and simple

A move to A$M will put 25-35 more millions in his pocket over the next 5 years than any other option he has available to him

Couple that with the best care in America for his son

Welcome to Aggieland coach Fisher

FWIW on his son’s condition. This is from Travis Johnson who is an FSU alum and played for the Texans

quote:

and three, is his is son’s condition. He has to come to Houston to get treatment. Well that’s right here now just an hour and a half away. Jimbo’s a great man, great friend and great mentor. I’d love to be around him and that program.”

I was pretty confident, until remembering we have another week to wait. Good thing Morris as a fallback isn't a bad thing

I think the evidence is overwhelmingly strong that he is coming. Literally everything we've heard the last two weeks points that direction.

All we need now is for Chip brown to say publicly that Fisher will not coach at A&M

I’m calling my shot now. I think this falls through. The aggy factor is too strong, and I’m blaming the freak rescheduling of a game due to a hurricane pushing this back a week.

Had their season been done after Saturday like everyone else I think it would have gotten done, but now that this has become a very public and national story I think FSU faithful start to take seriously the possibility of losing their national championship winning coach, and apply the necessary pressure on the AD to not let that happen. Plus I think tally friends family start to talk jimbo out of it if he’s leaning towards cs.

Just sharing. Been rumored all year Jimbo would offer DC position to Kevin Sherrer on our staff. Think that still would be likely with a move out there. He's a hell of a recruiter.

Good luck guys

He's constantly got good ones. Been coaching OLB's. Only holdover from Richt's staff. Was a Pruitt guy and former DC at S. Alabama. Players love him. Hate to lose him, but he deserves it.
He recruited S. Georgia for us and that's a tough region with FSU, Florida, and Auburn right there.
