I’m not sure that will be the resulting conclusion, we are money whipping the crap out of Fisher and putting FSU in its ACC place

But certainly that we are the real Jones’s in the State of Texas after watching tu fail miserably two times in a row to land a big name coach after a dozen rejections

if we do actually pull Fisher from FSU, it will be tough to make an argument against us being a top five or top 10 coaching destination.

I think most realistic people who can be fair when evaluating already see us for sure as top 10. We pay in the top 10 of coaching salary, assistant/coordinator budgets, have a top 10 stadium/facilities. So the only real argument is are we top 5, that is more debatable but we’ve been a top 10 coaching job for awhile now.

I recall reading that when we paid Sherill $1M that it made him one of the top 3 or so paid coaches in the country.

We've been trying to buy championships for decades now, the way Miami did in the 80s. It's going to work one of these years!!

Remember when certain posters on here thought we would never be able to get Fuente because A&M and VT are comparable jobs

Ok. So we haven’t made the best hires that worked out. At the end of the day: do we pay more money than other schools for a HC salary and for assistants? Yes. Do we have new facilities and a stadium that are some of the best in the nation? Yes. In a fertile recruiting state? Yes.

In all measures that a individual would consider when evaluating us as a coaching opportunity, we are easily in the top 10 right now. Head and shoulders better than LSU like Billy Liucci said in one of his articles when explaining why Fischer would spurn them but roll with us? Eh, that’s debatable.

Don’t let the past cloud your judgement, this is about the here and now.

So true. Oregon was a nobody before Nike injected it with Nike jizz. Historically, they've been a middle of the road to lower tier program. Today, they're Nike U and are considered an "it" program.

Money changes everything. We are truly blessed that we are backed by Texas Oil.

This is a statement hire. I guess we're trying to prove that money buys happiness? Lol, now I'm just interested in who our assistants will be. I would like us to retain only Terry Price and/or David Turner.

Florida State people on Twitter are saying Fisher met with their President this morning. The presidents office is spreading that it went well for them.

If Moorehead is retained at all I would melt hard.

He has been the worst assistant by far under Sumlin...and that includes Dave Christiansen, Matt Wallerstedt, Jake Spavital, and Mark Snyder.

I don't think it's very reliable, just sharing what I saw.

For sure it is a statement hire. In days of past we could always say the facilities and wrong hires were preventing us from succeeding. With what we have now and Jimbo at the helm (if) we should not have excuses.

Haha, love coach banks and thought he was arguably the best coach on staff behind chief coming into the season but our special teams took a couple steps backwards imo. Kicker played well but aside from that we didn't look as good as previous years. Plus I don't want a bunch of holdovers. Two max. Clean house and let Jimbo bring in his guys so we can get where we need to be

How does that compare to previous seasons? I well say it's really nice having a reliable kicker in CFB

LaCamera was 17/24 in 2016
Bertolet was 22/31 in 2015

Only 1 PAT missed since 2014 (this season)
