If there isn't... there should be.

Realistically, both. Evans and Swope were a deadly combo. Even in the NFL, most teams have a smaller, twitchy guy in the slot (Amendola, Welker, Desean Jackson, Cole Beasley, etc.)

Some shifty WRs that can make people miss in the open field are a nice weapon but when it comes to the deep ball or end zone fade routes a big, tall WR can be lethal.

There needs to be a mixture of both.
If you get too many big, rangy and slow receivers, you get the 2017 Carolina Panthers (which is why they traded away Kelvin Benjamin and have improved). You cannot stretch the field and everything becomes compressed.

There are 14 schools in the SEC, it varies from every offensive system.
Probably a combo of both, but skills vary regardless of build. It seems like soon having multiple WR's 6'5 and over will be normal. There have been 5'11 WR's in this league that are teams best jump ball threat.

The only thing that matters is that they do at least one thing at an elite level.

I will take the guy who can only make uncontested catches but gets open all the time over the guy who can't get open but is great at contested catches

Speaking for AU. We need a guy that can win 50/50 balls. Our WRs always seem to have to be wide open to catch the ball.

I just want another Percy. Strong, fast, not short short, and hands that never dropped a ball. If he could have stayed healthy...kid would have been a top three WR in the NFL. Sad

Smaller, quicker recievers in the slot, and long, rangy, fast guys on the outside for the deep threat.

Most of OM recent wrs have been in the 6'2"-6'4" range. Has worked out well. As mentioned smaller wrs can have just as big of an effect.

This is recruiting. Not a draft. Take all 3 types of receivers (smaller, quick-twitch / taller power-forward types / big Tony Gonzalez types with massive hands that can bring in the ball with a defender all overy his back).

We use smaller, quicker WRs. When you combine route running with speed you're pretty much guaranteed a guy that can create separation.
Sterling Sheperd
DeDe Westbrook
And now Hollywood Brown.

Ole Miss has had a lot of success with bigger WRs

Ideal WR is Randy Moss. 6-4, blazing speed, elite body control and hands, play maker. Can score off a bubble screen or on a go route. I'd take 8 Randy Moss's and call it a day.
