quote:pageantry only exist because they're in college
Spoken like someone who hasn't watched either.
The products of both are terrible, but college basketball will always have the pageantry

Because the G League is crushing NCAAMB in TV numbers, huh?
NCAAMB is going to look way more like the G League in 5 years than college basketball.

quote:college football has a nationwide reach, it's becoming more like minor league football.
One has a nationwide reach and the other is 8 teams in 8 cities marketing toward degenerate gamblers

After Crabtree and maybe Jordy Nelson the best Big12 WR from that era

And yet, it still has way more pageantry than the UFL will ever hope to have.
quote:perhaps but I still think its reasonable to think an actual minor league might surpass minor league masquerading as college football
UFL will be gone within the next 2-3 years

College football has a 100 year head start on marketing and fan loyalty.
Fans were loyal to college football not minor league football which is what people want college football to become

quote:Lol you said Corliss Williamson like Ed O didnt destroy him head to head in the national championship LMAO I can't take you serious
ol yeah if you don't count Shaq, Allen Iverson, Corliss Williamson, Kerry Kittles, Ray Allen, Tim Duncan, Larry Johnson, Glenn Robinson, Marcus Camby off the top of my head
Larry Johnson and Big Dog Robinson(and Rip Hamilton) are the only ones even in the discussion. The fact you mentioned Ray Allen and not Hamilton also shows you know nothing about college basketball

quote:the thread says most overrated college basketball player not NBA prospect. He's after Laetner arguably the best player of the entire 90s
Ed O'Bannon- not saying he was an overrated college player but his game did not transition well to the next level
college- 1st All American, Pac-10 POY, Wooden Award, Final 4 MOP, Top 10 pick
NBA- 3 teams, 2 years 5 points per game

quote:he was really great but not generational. A-Rod and Pujols are examples of generational. Trout isn't on that level
What is going on in this thread? Are their morons arguing Trout wasn't a generational baseball player?

quote:no. He could have been the healthiest player ever. Pujols, A-Rod, and obviously Bonds were still superior. I would argue Pudge too.
f he never has the injury problems, could he have pushed to be the GOAT?
