Nigerian immigrants are hard working people.
hell yeah they are. once i had a custody hearing between two nigerian immigrants. the father took the stand and testified that if he got custody of his son he would work hard and not accept any handouts from the government. of course, on cross examination we ate that up and had him repeat that he wouldnt accept food stamps or tanf or allkids or any govt assistance. the mother (my client) won the hearing and got primary custody of the children, but in the end i had developed a lot of respect for that nigerian man. he didnt want any handouts. i wish there were a lot more people in this country that had that attitude.

OLB Matthew Thomas just told me #Canes r his leader
quote:
Four-star LB Matthew Thomas told me after the Miami Nike Camp that Alabama was his leader with Miami No. 2.
"Right now, my No. 1 is Alabama," he said. "I just like the relationship that I have with their coaches. I talk to Coach Stoutland all the time and he put me on with Nick Saban and I enjoyed talking with him, too."
I will add that he said Miami is a strong No. 2 and said that is "where his heart is"- there also are other reports that indicate the Canes are the leader.
My take: It's a Miami-Bama battle.
Thomas plans to visit Tuscaloosa this summer.
I will have a full article later.

I worry about getting into a recruiting battle with Clemson much more than OM or LSU. LSU isn't that dirty of a program and OM only pays for kids from MS. His parents are pretty wealthy though aren't they? Maybe that will prevent Clemson's best recruiting pitch from being very effective.
Robot, of the teams you listed LSU is the only one on probation ATM.

This is true.
MS recruiting is some of the dirtiest in the country though. I'm sure you are aware of this. The only reason they don't get caught is the fact that no one gives a shite about them.
And one of Clemson's players, Watkins I think, had his family put up in some nice arse hotel they couldn't afford. They have also had recruits photographed with stacks of cash ala Auburn's fat white TE/armed robber.

It's funny because every Auburn commit says it.

This, how are you not going to mention a recent high 1st rounder? When did MJ play LT?

The only time I recall Mike Johnson playing LT was when Andre Smith was suspended for the 2009 Sugar Bowl. He was then injured in the first quarter.

LSU rantards are out in full force today. If they aren't flaming the SEC rant over sweeping a terrible baseball team, they're in this thread.

Matthews (N.C.) Butler signal caller Riley Ferguson, one of Alabama’s top quarterback targets, was in town this weekend for A-Day. The visit marked the 6-foot-3, 195-pounder’s first opportunity to view the Alabama program up close and the Charlotte area native was admittedly blown away.
“I got there on Friday and we were just there just hanging out. Coach (Chris) Rumph showed me around the football facilities and a tour guide took me around. I went to the QB meeting with Coach Nuss (Doug Nussmeier) and watched how things went. I liked that a lot,” detailed Ferguson.
“They were saying that they liked my highlight tape and they could see that I had all the intangibles it takes to play at Alabama, it just comes down to if I want to do the work. I’m going back in early June so I can throw for Coach Saban and see how it is to work with Coach Nuss.”
Ferguson spent a significant amount of time with A.J. McCarron and drew numerous comparisons to the Crimson Tide’s starting quarterback.
“I was out with A.J. and he showed me around town and stuff. That was real fun,” said Ferguson. “He and I are a lot alike and people kept saying we’re similar. We have the same personality and stuff like that."
On Saturday morning, the Carolina quarterback had the opportunity to sit down with head coach Nick Saban and discuss the inner workings and mission of Alabama’s program.
“In the morning I got up and went to talk with Coach Saban. That was good- he talked to us about the school and how they’re ranked academically. It wasn’t just football stuff. He talked about things you have to do when you play at Alabama and how they do a lot to help their players be successful not just on the football field, but in life.”
From there, the Queen City standout watched A-Day and came away impressed with the Crimson Tide’s fan support and offensive scheme.
“The game was crazy. I’ve never seen anything like that at a spring game. The whole bottom section was full. I heard there was something like 78,000 people there, so that’s a lot of people to watch a practice. I loved it.
“I liked the offense a lot. I was talking to Coach Nuss and he said they were going to do a few things different this year. It’s viewed as a running school and they always have good running backs and that’s what Alabama’s based off of, but they’re always top three in conference passing-wise. I was watching A.J. the whole time since I was with him most of the time I was down there.”
With the visit concluded, Fergson notes that Alabama is likely the leader for his services.
"This visit helped me a lot to see how Alabama is- I’ve heard a lot of things about them and this let me see it all for myself. It puts them up there and they’re probably on top. I liked it a lot, a lot."
As a junior at Butler, Ferguson completed 184 of 279 passes for 3,345 yards and 48 touchdowns against 8 interceptions. He plans to participate in the Atlanta Elite11 regional next weekend.

Three-star quarterback Riley Ferguson visited Tuscaloosa for A-Day to gain a better understanding of the Alabama program and left with a better understanding of starting quarterback AJ McCarron.
"He's like a big brother to me," Ferguson said. "We have a lot in common."
The Matthews, N.C., native said McCarron took him out to dinner on Friday and the two talked about life, football and where McCarron spends his downtime outside of football. Ferguson said McCarron and he hit it off well and the two talked like old friends. Despite the good conversation, the Asian chicken stood out to the young quarterback most of all.
"That's the best chicken I've ever tasted in my life," Ferguson said. "They put some kind of special sauce on it and I killed it."
Ferguson spent 45 minutes Saturday morning speaking with coach Nick Saban about the importance of education and Alabama's track record of graduation. He said Saban told him about the large number of players who had already graduated playing in the National Title game and the importance he places on academics, something that is a priority for Ferguson as well.
"Football is always going to be there, but one day it's going to be over," Ferguson said. "I want to be ready when that day comes."
In addition to Alabama's track record of academic excellence, Saban spoke to Ferguson about his history of NFL quarterbacks at LSU and Alabama. That talk, combined with his time with McCarron, had a large impact on Ferguson.
"I can see myself going there (to Alabama) and I see myself in AJ," Ferguson said. "I see the success he's having and how going to the NFL soon and I think, 'I can do that.'"
In addition to meeting Saban and McCarron, Ferguson also met with offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier and said he enjoyed his meeting his prospective play caller.
"He was real cool, real down to earth," Ferguson said. "I'd love to work with him one-on-one in the future."
Ferguson said he thoroughly enjoyed his trip and although he has not narrowed his list down yet, Alabama is sitting pretty moving into the next phase of his recruitment.
"They're definitely at the top of my list," Ferguson said. "I liked everything I saw at Alabama. Everything was centrally located to the facilities and really nice."
Ferguson said he plans to trim his list this spring and make his commitment sometime during the summer. He said he wants to be sure where he decides to go to college is just right for him, so he will make sure exhaust all options. Regardless, he said he can't wait to return to Tuscaloosa this summer.

On April 7, four-star defensive end Demarcus Walker visited Gainesville for the Gators' Orange and Blue game. One week later, he was in Tuscaloosa for Alabama's A-Day. When asked to describe which one he liked better, it wasn't even close between the two SEC schools.
"Alabama was way better, the crowd and the competition were amazing," Walker said. "Seeing players competing and going all out, it was really good."
After the visit, he set decision date.
Walker said rated his trip to Tuscaloosa as a 20 on a scale from one to ten. The highlight of his day was watching the Walk of Champions ceremony where the hands and feet of Mark Barron, Dont'a Hightower and Trent Richardson joined other Alabama legends in the sidewalk near Denny Chimes. He enjoyed meeting Hightower most of all, as the two spent 15 to 20 minutes talking about various topics.
"He's a cool guy," Walker said. "He was telling me about his experience and his four years here and how much he liked it."
He said he liked speaking with Hightower most of all because of the career he has had at Alabama and how he projects to be a first-round pick in the NFL draft on April 26. Walker said he wanted to soak up as much as he could and get as much advice as he could from him while he had the chance.
Walker said it was an honor to be at the ceremony and he enjoyed seeing all the fans cheer and seeing coach Nick Saban praise his former players. He said he spoke with Saban today as well, mostly about football and where he would fit in at linebacker if he joined the Crimson Tide.
"He said I'd fit in well," Walker said. "Coach Saban said they have a lot of linebackers who can drop back in coverage but they need more guys who can rush the passer, like me."
Walker is still working on narrowing his choices down and said he's still undecided about his future but he said Alabama's improved greatly in his eyes at A-Day and they are doing an excellent job recruiting him. He said everyone always made sure he wasn't excluded and felt a part of what was going on around him.
"They showed me a lot of love," Walker said. "They were always talking to me and always making sure I was alright."
Walker said he isn't done visiting Alabama. He said he plans to return this summer to check out what Tuscaloosa is like and see more of what life would be like at the University of Alabama outside of football.
"I'm excited to come back," Walker said. "Roll Tide!"

Class of 2014 recruit Bo Scarbrough needed no introduction in his A-Day visit Saturday - everyone already knew who he was.
The hometown hero was not able to talk to coaches Saturday, as he arrived too late for meetings. However, he did get to take in the Crimson Tide's performance on the field.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound athlete appears destined to excel at the next level. Even now, Scarbrough envisions himself playing in college.
"When I look at (Alabama's offense), I think, 'I could put myself right there and do that right there,'" Scarbrough said. "As long as I'm out there on offense I really don't care which position I play."
Although he is thought of more as a running back due to his success in the back field at Northridge High School, Scarbrough is just as potent at the receiver position.
"Most of the coaches over there see me as both a running back and a wide receiver," Scarbrough said. "They see that I can play both because of my speed and my size."
What would he rather play? It depends.
"If I was (at Alabama) I would want to play wide receiver," Scarbrough said. "Not just for myself, but because I think it would give the team the best chance at winning a championship."
Scarbrough currently holds six offers, and of those Alabama Clemson UCLA stand above the rest.
"The people who play over there and the coaches, they have so much care for one another," Scarbrough said. "They are like one big family. There is something about the atmosphere at that school that builds a family."
If Scarbrough can show that he can perform at the same level before he injured his ACL, his recruiting process is poised to take off. Of the offers he is most highly anticipating, Scarbrough named Georgia, Florida and Oklahoma State.
"Coaches mostly want to see what I'm looking like coming off of that ACL injury," Scarborough said. "It's on the same side as my broken ankle. They want to see how I will preform."
Scarbrough puts himself currently at 90 percent, but expects to be back at 100 percent by the start of his junior season.
"That's going to be my biggest game ever," Scarbrough said. " I just want to rebuild, gain weight and get faster. My goals this season are to rush for 1,000 yards and get score 50 touchdowns."
Scarbrough said he plans to be visit Alabama sometime soon in order to talk with coaches.
"I told them I would stop through there because I was in a rush today," Scarbrough said. "So hopefully I can go up next week and see them."

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas four-star defensive end Joey Bosa spent the last week on the road. The Rivals100 prospect began by traveling to Gainesville for Florida's spring game. He followed that trip up by making his way to Big Ten country and checking out Wisconsin, Ohio State, and Michigan.
Upon returning to the Sunshine State, Bosa shared a bit about each stop.
First up for the 6-foot-5, 260-pound defensive lineman was the short trip to the annual spring game for the Gators.
"It was good," Bosa said.
Bosa then departed early in the week to make his way to Wisconsin. He enjoyed his time around Bret Bielema's program.
"The people are great there," Bosa said. "They are genuinely good people and Madison is an awesome town."
The next stop for Bosa was Columbus, Ohio, where he checked out Urban Meyer's Buckeyes.
"Everything (stood out)," Bosa said. "I loved it there."
The tour concluded with a stop at Michigan. Bosa said it was tough coming off the heels of arguably his best visit yet but that one member of Brady Hoke's staff really made him feel welcomed to Ann Arbor.
"It was hard to top Ohio State after coming from there," Bosa said. "But Coach (Greg) Mattison is awesome."
Entering the visits, Bosa had a top four of Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, and Wisconsin. At the conclusion of the visits, that list has been shaken up drastically.
"I think it's going to come down to Ohio State and Michigan," Bosa said. "I think Florida and Wisconsin are out."
Bosa now claims a current top four of Alabama, Florida State, Michigan, and Ohio State - in no order. He isn't quite prepared to take the next step and make his decision.
"No decision date," Bosa said. "Probably summer."
Bosa said he doesn't have any visit plans made at this time. He will now turn his focus to spring football at St. Thomas Aquinas.
