If that's the case, I hope like hell he picks Michigan.

Tide on top for ESPN 150 Watch List member CB Smith after visit
When Texas offered Lone State cornerback Maurice Smith last month, the University of Alabama knew it had an uphill road to climb, but the Crimson Tide made up some ground and more during the weekend when Smith visited Tuscaloosa for A-Day.
“It was great,” Smith said. “We got to talk to Coach (Doug) Nussmeier, the coach out of my area. He really took me under his wing and showed me around the place. I loved the campus and the people around the campus. The environment was great.
“There’s nothing bad to say about it. The academic support is amazing. The campus is beautiful, and the people are just very nice to the football players.”
Smith, an ESPN 150 Watch List member, had been to some big football games in the past, but he had never seen anything like what he saw at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday for just a spring game.
“We got on the field, and it was ridiculous,” Smith said. “I had never seen a crowd like that before for a spring game. They had about 78,000 people.
“As we were walking on the field, I got to see where the cornerbacks were doing their drills. I got to see Coach (Nick) Saban do what he does best and how he interacted with the players. It was great. The crowd was on their feet the whole time, and it was just wild. The whole thing was wild.”
The chance to play under Coach Saban is one of the main reasons Smith is high on the Tide. Over the weekend, the 5-foot-11, 180-pound cornerback had the opportunity to meet the Alabama head coach in person for the first time.
“We got to talk about how I would fit it on the defense,” Smith said. “He was just telling what they have to offer. Any school I would go to is great, but the way he said it, it just really made sense. It was an honor (talking to him).”
Smith has offers from some of the elite programs from across the country, including Alabama, Arkansas, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Texas, but he plans to wait until the football season begins before he narrows his list.
However, the Crimson Tide may be one of the teams to beat after his A-Day visit this weekend.
“Right now, as far as a list goes, I don’t really have one, but if I did, I think they would be on top for sure,” Smith said.
Saban invited Smith to come back to Tuscaloosa in June for the Tide’s camp, and the Texas native has already marked it on the calendar.
Ga. OL Kublanow enjoys A-Day visit
Marietta, Ga. (Walton) offensive lineman Brandon Kublanow had a lot of potential schools to visit over the weekend with spring games taking place at Clemson, Georgia and Vanderbilt, but he chose to visit Alabama for the Crimson Tide’s A-Day game.
“It was a lot of fun,” Kublanow said. “I got to see everything, talk to the coaching staff for awhile. It was fun.”
It was the first time Kublanow had been to Tuscaloosa and the first time he had seen Bryant-Denny Stadium. Although it wasn’t a regular game day atmosphere, he was still blown away by the number of fans who were at the game.
“It was pretty crazy,” he said. “There was some many people there for a spring game. It was pretty surprising, but the fans are crazy there. The stadium is massive. It’s like bigger than an NFL stadium.”
Kublanow made the visit with his high school teammate and 2013 Alabama commitment Tyren Jones. The two talked about the possibility of playing together one day for the Crimson Tide.
“We talked about it a little bit,” Kublanow said. “I know Tyren wants me to go there. It’s a factor, but I’m going to go where I feel most comfortable and what fits me the best.”
The 6-foot-2, 285-pound interior lineman says Alabama along with Clemson, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Vanderbilt are recruiting him the hardest. He plans to make a decision before his senior year.
The main factors he’s looking at are the academics, his relationship with the coaching staff, how he fits in, the stability of the program and whether or not they’re winning. On his visit to UA, Kublanow got a chance to check out the academic side of things.
“It was good,” he said. “They just showed me what they have to offer there and how they take care of their athletes and how they have the highest graduation rate.”
Both Kublanow and Jones begin spring practice at Walton High School on May 2.

I don't really understand why we haven't offered Kublanow.

Re-watching the 2008 Chick-fil-A Kickoff for the first time. It's unbelievable how many freshman were contributing right out the gate on the first drive.
