That Shenandoah is beautiful.

You can throw that D-28 CW large soundhole my way if you're still mad at it.
I had met him a few times. We had talked to him a bit about playing down there till some of the band members started getting wishy washy and wouldn’t come to practice
Are you talking about Steve Masterson with the Acoustic Cafe?
quote:I found a D-28 Clarence White with the large soundhole just like his on a deal. I’d watch his instructional video and almost throw it out the window
This guy has made me put down my guitar in disgust (oh) so many times
I’m not sure what happened but it sounds like a stroke or heart attack. All I’ve heard is he was making his and Pam’s morning coffee and was gone in an instant.

Lot of you may not have heard of him but his name was Tony Rice. Just about any bluegrass or country picker grabbed some of his licks. I tried to as well and tried my best to least play rhythm like him. He was a strong as rhythm player too and you can hear it in music now.
He had the Holy Grail Martin D-28 guitar that was once owned by Clarence White. He had a smooth baritone voice until nerve problems caused his voice to be scratchy and I believe he retired around 2015 and said he’d stay that way until he felt arthritis would let him do it again.
Every time he talked it sounded that way until he accepted his plaque for the Hall of Fame. He had worked on some exercises to try to speak regularly for a moment and he did but never sang again.
