Trey is correct about Foster. OSU did back off. Just because the kid says differently doesn't mean anything. How many kids have you ever seen admit a school backed off? Very, very few. They always make it seem like they were the ones that backed off.

As for the reasons, the thing I heard was to do with tagalongs in his decision group with their hands out. Basically third party involvement which OSU has got to stay away from if they're smart. The NCAA knows more about Pryor and his 3rd party involvement than they put out. If Meyer is smart(he is) then he knows he can't deal with a kid that's has people openly asking for extra benefits. Pitt is the favorite as of today for Foster from everything I've seen and heard but the visit to Bama could be a deal breaker for Pitt and I'm sure PSU will look hard at him as well as Maryland.

I do agree with the general thought of taking him no what as long as he doesn't have the NCAA following him around. If that is the case then proceed with caution. Meyer and OSU will spill to the NCAA if anything shady is going on. Meyer has a history of it and OSU is willing to do whatever they need to get back in the NCAA's good graces.

Want to make it clear that I don't know much about Foster's personal choices and haven't kept up with him because he's not a guy I'm concerned with so I'm not saying the 3rd party stuff is absolute truth. It's just what is out there. Makes some sense considering the fervor OSU was going after him with and then after he visits they just drop him. Something is definitely shady somewhere around Foster.

About time he pulled the trigger. He was said to be "50/50" (Smuphy had the inside track and said he'd definitely commit when he got to campus, or off campus since you can't commit on campus) to commit this weekend, he just needed his mother to see the campus and such. He's been all Auburn for a while, and Tennessee gave a little run at him.

Pretty sure he had a committable offer at one point, but his coach told him to hold off and we moved on. I doubt we will try to flip him unless we miss on a couple of guys.

How do we get around the blackout? If I can't see this there will be blood shed.

Not at all surprising, good pick up for AU

Alumni Luncheon was great, Mal spoke 1st about 15 minutes, then Saban spoke about 30 min then took questions for about 15 after

Highlights of Saban:

- 5 years ago Bama had NO 1st rd draft picks, this year he is hearing as many as 6, but likely 5
- Said he appreciates support and it is the reason they decided to stay and we are all the best fans but he knows why
- Said this years team is NOT last years team and shouldn't be perceived that way, he said he doesn't care about his last 48 wins only the NEXT 48. This team WILL NOT be a repeat of 2010
- He said every victory every win on a play every good positive outcome is NOT by accident
- This years team is one of the most talented but the unique goal will not to be complacent.
- Was asked about this teams strengths and weaknesses, said it may not be the deepest group he has had on the OL but it is far and away the most talented OL he's ever coached. Also said the DL is the most talented and deepest it has ever been at Bama, says weakest might be secondary and WRs on the team but also said that is only because everyone is so young and trying to learn at a mile a minute, also said he has never coached a more talented and unique player on the DL as Jesse Williams and expects him and Square to be leaders.
- Asked if he had a game plan for Mich, was pissed at the question and said "Yeah but I can't tell you" lol then talked about athletic QB and good OL and recruiting etc seemed like that just struck a nerve
- Was asked about Nuss offense and AJs development and said it is phenomenal the things he has seen out of AJ and Nuss wants to air it out more but these young inexperienced WRs gotta learn the PB and get a repoire, thought that answer was interesting, said Amari Cooper would contribute early and often though
- Was asked about losing on some QBs early in recruiting, said were trying to find the right guy and fit also got bowed up and talked about how we have a great class and just got done talking with a group of guys fired up about being here and asked if he got any commitments said "You think I would tell you that" lol
- Ending he said he appreciates our support, thanked alumni club and said this Spring game is a wonderful tradition for our university and appreciates all the fans making it a big deal for the team and it is an important tryout, compares it to a final exam and said it is some of these guys last chance before a new class and before 3 months of layover till next season.

That's about it

Toney? Shane on BOL said they wanted to see him in camp again before they extended a firm offer.

If yall are expected to get commits today, can someone make a new thread specifically for a-day recruiting? It won't kill the board and will be much easier to find the news than searching this behemoth of a thread.

Good lord, can CSS be any cheaper?? Of course their HD channel is constantly "off air". I mean I have 65 inch HDTV and I cant even read the numbers on the jerseys until they zoom in. I know what analog looks like, and this is worse than analog. They dusted off cameras from the 90's and used them. I'm no HD TV snob, but this is ridiculous. They're usually cheap, but they really pushed it with this game.

On a positive note it's good to see Calloway out there putting up stats. Yeldon is going to be a freak, you can just see the potential everytime he touches the rock.
