Deon Johnson, someone tell me about him. seems like I heard he was thought to be headed to AU.
Possibly the best WR in the state. Would make a great slot receiver OR DB. He's extremely fast. His grades are low, though - and last I heard/read, he's got some major work to do in the classroom.

6-1, 180-190 ATH that ran a 4.38 at a Nike Camp, claims he's hit 4.32 before. Transferred his sophomore year and had to sit out, racked up 18 total TDs his Junior year.

Before today I felt like CB was a major, major need for this class. But after watching A-day, I feel that Sylve and Washington will be solid CBs for us in 2 years.

Yeah he's a slot speed track guy, looked for a long time like a heavy AU lean, things have been looking up recently with grades, he got his offer today after staff looked into it this week and feel he is worth an offer and has a lot of faith in the grade situation.
Averett is an elite S prospect, top 100 guy from NJ, really been under the radar, but he had quite a few offers, 247 grade is 93

Bo Scarborough on Bama visit- "They have a great team. I think in two years they will be in NC game and maybe I'll be a part of it."

Yeah looks bleak now but staff has seen enough to gain confidence, in the end he might make it he might not

Alabama added one of the faster prospects in the Yellowhammer State, if not the nation on Saturday when Spanish Fort (Ala.) wide reciever Deon Johnson gave his pledge to the Crimson Tide after taking in A-Day. The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder was Alabama's first commitment of the day with Woodbury (N.J.) defensive back Anthony Averett following shortly thereafter.
"It was home- I just felt like Bama is home," said Johnson. "I talked to Coach (Nick) Saban and he told me welcome, to keep a good reputation for Alabama, and stay out of trouble. I talked to Coach (Jeremy) Pruitt too and he told me to keep up the good work and keep working hard."
Johnson liked what he saw from the Crimson Tide's offense throughout the spring game and envisioned himself playing in front of the crowd at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
"We went up there, ate, and then watched the spring game. I could see myself playing in front of all those people. I liked how the offense played today and the short crossing routes they were throwing to the slot receivers. I think I can help them as a slot receiver, in kickoff returns, and score some touchdowns."
The Top247 prospect contends he's solid with the Crimson Tide and may take a few additional visits.
"I might visit a couple more schools, but I feel like Bama is home."
Johnson, who has clocked a 4.32 electronically-timed 40-yard dash, recorded 68 receptions for 869 yards and 19 touchdowns as a junior at Spanish Fort.

From Charles on BOL:
A few quick notes on Averett-
A few quick notes on Averett-
quote:
He basically only had Big East offers before UA offered in early March- since then he's been offered by Penn State, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Iowa just to name a few. Needless to say the early evaluation and offer was big. He was extremely excited by the offer and we've had UA listed as his leader in the 247Sports database since that time.
Averett and Johnson give UA two of the faster prospects in the nation- Averett won the N.J. indoor 55m earlier this year and has the 50th best 55m time in the country this year with a 6.46.
On position, he's said UA has told him that he can play CB or safety and he doesn't have a preference, but noted UA's affinity for taller CB's, which he would fit.

Can't verify yet but I heard Kublanow had a GREAT time and might have gotten an offer, Tyren has been working on him

Also said on Averitt, Bama staff likes him at CB and he just spoke with him and he "fell in love" with UA and will not take any more visits.
Also I'm gonna post Aday thoughts later on

I would love to see Kublanow in this class, but I really want to see another OT.

Watched Johnson's video. He's already adept at catching WR screens so he should fit right in with our offense. Although I have to admit that I don't remember us running it any today. Guess we don't want to show Michigan too much
