Why do AU beat writers care? Do they still think they are in the running?

He's still coming and listening to Auburn, so I would lean towards more than likely. It's a recruit that we're after, so why not spread the news?

It's hilarious how defensive you can get when another school is mentioned regarding Alabama recruits

How is that defensive? I simply asked a question. I haven't heard anything about Auburn, relative to Reuben Foster, in over a month. Maybe that's because UGa fans take up so much space when his named is mentioned, but that's still the perception I get.

This will end if he transfers to a school in Alabama.
They will then be replaced by Auburn fans.

Scout published a new Malik Zaire story today.
He said he is really excited about the Alabama offer and is definitely coming for a visit this spring.
He's been invited to compete in the Elite 11 camp.
Plans to visit other Midwest schools (ND, Ohio State, etc.).

This isn't Alabama related, but all of you need to head over to the LSU Recruiting Board. They are all blowing each other because a QB not ranked in the top 40 QBs in the 2013 class is visiting this weekend.
I guess having Jefferson and Lee for the last 4 years has really lowered their expectations.
The thread is titled "Connor Mitch tweet."
Pure gold.

You really are clueless. He's a good prospect, and If we land him we get to make SP Mitch Connor shirts. Screw you!!
FTR he doesn't have an offer yet.
Also there is a strong chance Diarse commits to us in the next few weeks so the board is a little excited. Kinda like how you guys were on JR day. Owe have two huge weekends starting tomorrow coming up for big time recruits making visits.

Pretty much. We're still getting attention from Foster, but we don't think we really have a shot. UGA fans on the other hand do think they have a shot

How is Bama's QB search shaping up?
Posted on 3/8/12 at 9:17 pm to RockyMtnTigerWDE
Malik Zaire is one we're waiting to see camp.
Cooper Bateman,Max Browne and Riley Ferguson are some other guys that Bama is recruiting but we gotta wait for these guys to visit before we will know anything.

From what I can tell it's Max Browne (the top ranked QB in the 2013 class), then Cooper Bateman (Pro-Style QB), then Malik Zaire (Michael Vick clone).
Obviously Browne is the top priority, but watching all 3 of their films, I hope we get Zaire. He's short (6'1") but he can throw the hell out of a football. If he played in a different offense, his team runs a triple option set, I think he would be rated much higher. One positive for Zaire is that he takes 90% of his snaps from under center which is crucial in the Alabama offense. The other two are mainly used to taking snaps out of the shotgun.
Bateman has a stronger arm than Browne, but Browne's mechanics are better.
For my money I hope we get Zaire, but I would gladly take any of those three.

I want Browne, but I'm a rankings slut.

Rankings are all well and good, but I would rather take the guy that gives us the best chance to win.
To me Browne and Bateman are the "safe" choices, while Zaire brings excitement to the table.
Having said that, all 3 will give us a great chance to win. I just think Zaire would be able to win with both his arm and legs.

I bet Maggie Gorilla would be pretty stoked.
Let's see:
Stay in Oxford to watch Reuben Foster
or
Go back to Pensacola to watch Dejon Funderburk
Decisions, decisions...
