2020 6-4

His record is trending the wrong direction.

He will likely keep control of your program during a period of probation and investigation.

Hopefully he leaves you with a good base of solid talent and clean reputation in a few years and maybe with some upset wins along the way.

If you take a quick stroll down to UCF land they will tell you he can't recruit on the level of previous coaches there. His program was quickly being depleted of recruits gathered during the Frost regime. Given the number of scholarships that will be lost and guys leaving the program that can't be good.

Chadwell would have been 100x the hire this mongoloid is.

Chadwell was never an option for UT, just like Freeze. He has too much NCAA baggage

quote:

In 2018, after Chadwell was at Coastal, the NCAA came down on Charleston Southern sports, including football, for various violations including “failure to monitor its athletic program.”

The football program vacated 18 wins and the 2015 Big South championship. Violations ranged from playing ineligible players to athletes using scholarship money for books to buy electronics and jewelry and other items, according to the NCAA.

The school was placed on two-year probation, which ended last month.

I guess my point was I see no scenario where the next few years will be good. But I do not think he is known for a lot of off the field issues, right?

It is a low bar, but I think that is where they are at right now.

How Tennessee would it be for him to come in and go 10-2 next year, then Lincoln Riley head to the NFL, and Oklahoma come after Heupel?

Thank the good lord that there's no danger of that happening.

Damn, y'all are making the AU hire look good.

We hired a guy with a decade of experience at winning. He’s also in great shape, speaks well, and has the confidence to make hires from all over the country.

Heupel looks like a Golden Corral buffet regular. Sucks for Tennessee fans, but maybe it’ll work out somehow.

Heupel was fired as OC at Oklahoma a few years back. I doubt that bridge is mended just yet.

At least we could maybe hire Chadwell after that.

Honestly, it just comes off as a placeholder to get y'all through whatever NCAA bull shite is coming down the pipeline.

Maybe...but why not just let Steele ride it out for a couple of years if that's the strategy?

I was going to come on here to warn you that this guy might not be the homerun you're looking for - but god damn y'all are more cynical than I am.

He started to lose a bunch of games he shouldn't have considering that his teams were LOADED (relatively speaking). He had midtable SEC talent in the #6 league.

The only thing I can think of is comfort level on White's part.

I really just don't know.

The Univerity of Tennessee has to know that they won't be able to claim the imaginary NC that UCF claimed just because they are pillaging their staff. None of that kinda stuff works that way. You should know better.

I would have rather taken a shot with Tony Elliot it I was a Tennessee fan. This is a a terrible hire.

Won't be surprised if Elliott and other coaches turned them down.

This is a good hire considering where TN is as a program. What were TN fans expecting?
