Sexton isn’t going to prevent one of his clients from getting paid just because Pruitt is butthurt.

Tell me why the Auburn hire is terrible?

Prior to coaching in the SEC Saban had a 61% winning percentage, Meyer was at 83%, and Harsin is at 76%. I'm not saying he's going to be either of those guys, but I'd say the jury is still out on if it will be good or bad. On paper can it really be called an awful hire?

Good to see I can continue not to care. I’m going to guess he goes 5-7 three straight season and then gets fired. Maybe 3/4 wins if the sanctions are bad.

He is embarrassing to look at. That counts as off in my book.

So let me get this straight. Tennessee hired the UCF AD and his big play was to hire the UCF coach who was about to be on the hot seat?

What a lazy hire from White.

Q: Why is UT hiring Josh Heupel?

A: Because they didn't think they could get Rich Rod to leave his OC job at Louisiana-Monroe...

Seriously...I'm sure there are worse fits, I just can't think of any right now.

Dude, don’t play his childish game. Just reject the premise, it’s rejectable.

This coaching/AD search has been pretty hilarious, honestly.

DANNY WHITE: I'M SO GLAD TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL! There is nowhere I'd rather be than right here in Knoxville!

UT FANS: Yeah! Awesome! This guy gets it!

DANNY WHITE: We are going to go out and hire the best damn football coach in the country!

UT FANS: Hell yeah! And he will, too! Look at his track record!

DANNY WHITE: We might hire someone like PJ Fleck!

UT FANS: frick yes! That would be awesome! Row the boat!

DANNY WHITE: Ha ha ha, no, just kidding. But we might hire someone like Clemson's Offensive Coordinator!

UT FANS: Well, ok, we could get behind that. Yeah! Let's go Vols!

DANNY WHITE: Ha ha ha, no, got you again! We're actually gonna hire JOSH HEUPEL!

UT FANS: frick. It's happening again, isn't it?

With sanctions coming down the road, the good ones may have said hell no!
Hefty Heupel being the only poor soul left to accept the dumpster fire.

Josh Heupel named Tennessee Head Coach

quote:

White, announced Thursday as Tennessee's new AD, has been working fast to find a replacement for Jeremy Pruitt, who was fired for cause Jan. 18 following an investigation that uncovered what university chancellor Donde Plowman called "serious violations of NCAA rules." White cast a wide net through the Parker Executive Search firm and reached out to and/or interviewed several candidates, including Penn State's James Franklin, Cincinnati's Luke Fickell, SMU's Sonny Dykes, Minnesota's PJ Fleck and Clemson offensive coordinator Tony Elliott, among others.

quote:

"I am thrilled to be coming to Tennessee," Heupel said in the Tennessee statement. "I understand that Volunteer fans are hungry for a return to the top that they so richly deserve, and it is my goal and commitment to bring a championship back to Rocky Top."

He will likely keep control of your program during a period of probation and investigation.

Hopefully he leaves you with a good base of solid talent and clean reputation in a few years and maybe with some upset wins along the way.
