2014 was a crap team in a crap division. Similar to the 2011 UGA squad. No way in hell they win the West that year.

14 had an amazing D. It’s just that it was QBed by coked up Maty Mauk. A more senior QB would have stabilized that offense greatly.

As for the question. The 13 squad likely comes down to the head to head regular season game with Aubbie.

2013, Mizzou was a damn good football team. They made a run at Auburn in the SECCG. They could have won the division depending upon their East draw that year.

They get steamrolled against LSU and Alabama.

LSU gave Auburn a beat down that year. Auburn needed a once a lifetime miracle to beat Alabama and another prayer to beat Georgia. That was the luckiest team of all time. Fluke.

the game was tied before the Kick Six and Auburn had all the momentum at home

this statement penalizes them unfairly for winning on a crazy play. They easily could have won in OT. Alabama was reeling and had no kicking game on the road in a crazy environment. All the odds were in Auburn's corner.

in 2013, I think they would have had a chance to tie for the division if they played in the West, it would have depended who our East team was.

In 2014, they probably end up 4th or 5th in the West.

I will probably get some heat for saying this, but I still think we matched up better to Alabama than Auburn if we were to play them in the SECCG.

I still don't know how Steckel wasn't fired after that day, it was the worst coaching job I have ever seen, just an abysmal scheme change that wrecked us. That game was fun though.

Yeah I don’t know about all that but let’s just put that aside, the Georgia game was absolutely a fluke. No way you can argue against that. Missouri would have definitely gotten beat by 1 of 2 west teams that year. LSU or Bama depending on which game that they had on the road.

And we had a 20 point lead on UGA going into the 4th.

See my response above. Yes, that one play was a fluke. Auburn dominated them through 3 quarters and Murray sliced up our D in the 4th.

2014 I just can't see it. They get obliterated by Alabama in the SECCG. I doubt that changes if they play earlier in the season.

I think the 2014 UGA team would've given a Bama a run if they had their A game on.

They beat 4 ranked teams (AP final) by an average of 29 pts including a 34-0 drubbing of Missouri but inexplicably lost to 2 bad SC and UF teams... beginning of the end for CMR.

A&M hasn’t won a division title since 2010

Fixed it for you. There was no clear South Division Winner in 2010.

Tiebreaker 1: Head to Head

Oklahoma beat Oklahoma State
Oklahoma State beat A&M due to a Sherman Choke
A&M beat Oklahoma

Tiebreaker 2: Record vs. Division opponents. All three were 4-1

Tiebreaker 3: Record vs. North Division. All three were 2-1

Tiebreaker 4: Record vs. Common Opponents. The only common North opponent between all three teams was Kansas and they all won. A&M and Oklahoma both lost to Missouri, Oklahoma State lost to Nebraska. A&M beat Nebraska.

Tiebreaker 5: BCS rankings. Oklahoma was 9, Oklahoma State was 14, A&M was 18. The week prior, Oklahoma was 13, Oklahoma State was 9 and A&M was 17. Had A&M played a cupcake instead of Arkansas that season, they likely go to the Fiesta Bowl.

That's Auburn level weirdness.

In 2013, the east finished with two top 5 teams. How many did the west have?

That was a 1 score game to start the 4th quarter. Did it get away? Yes, but Missouri was hanging in blow for blow until they got a few bad breaks.

No. You can’t win the East division title if you’re in the West.

Kicking out our best player on a BS call sealed our fate.
