Yeah but that's still nearly two miles from the center of campus. If you don't know it's there you won't find it. Very much unlike Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, etc.
Do not criticize the only non-State fan who defended Starkville

MBA is an elite educational institution nevertheless. See Dead Poet's Society. Established for all the right reasons. To educate intelligent but poor young men. It's since become something much different. Herbstreat's boys attend MBA. Not that I really care.
And it's much, much better than MUS

Worst is probably Columbia

Nothing wrong with Starksville these days. It is improved since the early 2000's. Location of the campus hurts it. You either drive north to Oxford or East to T town for big events.
I love LSU's campus but Baton Rouge sucks. The traffic sucks, the crime sucks, the food almost overcomes the other but Baton Rouge still sucks.

"College Station has everything you want in a college town."
Who says unironically says this?
College station is a medium sized city centered around a large school with students that pride themselves on being friendly and engaged in school activities (I was neither). There are year round division 1 sports, music, bars, low crime, good food if you avoid the chains, and a number of lakes within easy (1 hr) driving distance. College station does not have white water rafting, snow skiing, surfing, or amusement parks. The weather sucks from June through early October, but the same could be said for a lot of sec schools.
No one is claiming CS is “amazing”. I have no desire to live there as an adult, but it is a fine college town.
I’d be curious to know what your definition of a college town even is.

Sure but so are Memphis University School, Ensworth, McCallie, and Baylor in the state of Tennessee. But they're also high schools. Referencing high schools as why a city is the Athens of the South is not a strong point IMO

And? Memphis University School has two current fortune 500 members (Fred Smith - FedEx and Pitt Hyde - Autozone). A rich guy sending his sons to MBA is expected.

Like the rest of the high schools I listed, it was created to educate the children of the upper class of society.

If you like towns with just a blinking light, then College Station is for you.
Lol at this steaming pile of bullshite.
College Station isn't the prettiest college town around, but there's 250,000 people in the BCS metro. Anyone calling it a tiny town is outing themselves as knowing nothing more than message board shite talk.
College Station as a whole is pretty nice. Clean, safe, good schools, etc. But it is boring as far as college towns go. Probably a better place to raise a young family than live up the college life. One of the reasons A&M has the campus culture it does, the college life runs through the campus, not the surrounding town.

no. They're essentially the same in every conceivable way

It’s funny that a lot of Clemson ‘fans’ probably feel that way but all live here! If you don’t like it you can get out.

It isn't bad. And, can't beat the price if you are feeding a crew.
Not knocking it, but it isn't really a MUST have in any situation

It’s a tie for me. Starkville and Oxford. Is here a more depressing state than Mississippi?

The best thing about this thread is the defensiveness of Aggy’s over people mentioning College Station.

Love LSU, but Baton Rouge sucks.
