how bad did Tennessee suck prior to Pearl!?!

Outside of a few odd years (Ernie/Bernie, for example), VOLS didn't have a very good basketball history prior to Pearl. But the subsequent 30 years of being a good/great program helps the VOLS reputation substantially, especially considering recency bias.

Can confirm
Weird Tennessee laws = strip clubs aren’t the best

You’ll see a lot better on Broadway. And a lot worse.

footVOLS are not dropping these games at home.

Arkansas has had our number for quite a while, and Bobby P will have the team ready to play. I still think we win, but it might be a slugfest. Hopefully not but I am prepared for the worst.
I’ve never been a big fan of this iteration:

State's going to win this game.

Sure, sure.

 sure, bud
I acknowledged that. Did you even read what I wrote? I thought you were smart, dude. G-D mussies.

"And apart from uga, bama, and lsu (and to a lesser extent, uf and auburn), I highly doubt this stat line against uga and uf is unique to the VOLS"'

"Yeah, it's the worst record in the Big 6 over that time period."

Most notable thing about 1998: you weren't even born yet
I'm just saying, a lot of teams sucked arse against bama, uf and uga, the last 20 years. Literally everyone struggled against Saban bama. And apart from uga, bama, and lsu (and to a lesser extent, uf and auburn), I highly doubt this stat line against uga and uf is unique to the VOLS. Yeah, it's the worst record in the Big 6 over that time period. But it's no secret the program went through a but of turmoil from 2008 to 2022, at the time when various SEC teams were peaking.

He's welcome to post the stat, i'm just contextualizing.

OK, so he's your guy. So when then?

This is the wrong question to ask. The questions is, who is the 100% slam dunk hire that is available and willing to come to UT right now and would be guaranteed to be better than CJH? Firing Fulmer without a plan in place led to the 15 years of suck and being the laughing stock of college football. Why would we set ourselves up for that again?

If CJH ends up struggling to break through for another 4/5 years, it will be time to revisit the conversation. But firing him right now, when he is clearly on an upward trajectory relative to the last 20 years of our program, and has taken us to the playoffs (and currently seems likely to make it two in a row) would be a moronic idea.

UGA went about 20 years without winning the conference, and that was relatively recently. shite goes in cycles.

You want to sit at the grown folks table in this conference, fine. You need to at least win the conference once every couple decades.

 okay, tough guy

But more than that, you love to see it

You absolutely hate to see it.

Heupel is 5 years in with his own folks now. One has to ask, if not now, when?

Dumbest shite I've ever read. Yeah lets just fire the only coach we've had worth a damn since 2008, who brought us out of the darkness and into the playoffs. Great idea!

Tennessee is in good hands with him. I kind of hate it.

Back when Kirby was at Bama and UGA was winning a lot but struggling to break through that elite tier, I knew that he was eventually going to go home and start a monster. Those first few years starting in 2016 and before he won the natty, I felt the same way. As much as I hated UGA, I could easily recognize that Kirby was not going to be good for us (another rival with a dynasty, just when Saban is on the way out...yay!)

Not saying Josh is Kirby or will be Kirby, but I do feel optimistic that we have our guy. Hopefully we can establish ourselves up near the top and break through within a few years. And not to say this season is over already, we did lose a game but no shame in giving away a game to one of the consistently elite teams in the country, and all of our goals are still ahead of us.

They should be bummed but optimistic... they still have everything in front of them.

This about sums it up.

11-1 with a rematch in ATL would be ideal.

.... that's your reply?

What the frick else am I supposed to say to a team with a 9 streak on us? I happen to be a realistic person. It sucks right now, but it won’t last forever. Went through the same shite with bama for 15 years. This is nothing compared to that.
