I said this other day but Jimbo not working out at A&M fascinates me for some reason. I thought for sure he'd at least have a similar trajectory that Urban had at UF.

Zach Arnett is high on the list

Jimbo Fisher is not even in the conversation. At TAM he went 45-25 overall, 27-21 in the SEC. He won an orange bowl and finished 4th one season. He finished ranked in the top 25 half of his seasons.
He would be in the top 5 all time of Auburn coaches. He isn’t anywhere on the list of worst hires.
Worst contract? Yes, that is possible. But that is on the AD Woodward, not on Jimbo.
Woodward wasn't there when they gave him a ridiculous extension in 2021 for no reason.

Harsin for AU fans and it isn’t even close

Harsin at Auburn.
Not even close.
Not even close.

Derek Dooley had a class without signing a single offensive lineman. I don’t know if you can top that

Tamu paid Jimbo $100 million
Chad Morris was paid leftovers

I think it’s Napier. The damage he has done is unreal,
This is just recency bias. Napier isn't even close to the worst.
Chad Morris had a 4-20 overall record at Arkansas and lost to ACTUAL directional schools that had no business even hanging with the worst SEC team. He played like 9 different starting QBs over those 2 years too, it was epically awful. That's not to mention his extremely corny and cringe-inducing introductory press conference and first team meeting which have become legendary for their terribleness.
He set the entire Arkansas athletic program back a decade at best. We are still hurting from the damage this one cornball did.

He also slimmed our offensive linemen down to a 280lb average in order to run his offense more efficiently. A recipe for disaster.

Man I'd say schnellenberger was worse than blake.
This got no traction, but it’s the right answer.
Got to hand it to OU, dumb enough to hire him, but smart enough to get rid of him after one season.

We got the GOAT AD
I love shitting on the Vols but Danny White is doing a great job there, and I've been saying that for about 2 years.
For all the talk on the depth of coaching in the SEC, there are some extremely successful ADs as well.

I still think Muschamp was worse but ole Billy is by far the most disappointing UF hire.
Guy had a team that would have spanked #1 ND in a 4 team playoff, beat Ohio State in the Gator bowl (right after the Urban to OSU announcement), landed classes that carried the 2015/16 seasons, and still was over .500 in 3 out of 4 seasons.
Don’t EVER say Billy was better than William Muschamp.

Derek Doucheley blew the Kentucky streak to a WR quarterbacking the cats. He’ll always be my number 1 WOAT

SMILE! That wasent really a hire though, that was a stop gap.
Chad Morris is the right answer. There are a lot of bad coaches here, but Chad Morris is in a category of his own. Never in the history of the SEC have we seen a coach like him, he was a cancer that has taken many years to clean up.

To not be consumed by recruiting every waking moment set us back a half a decade.
It doesn’t even have to go that far. Harsin literally burned bridges with Auburn pipelines. For example, he skipped out on a Georgia coaching convention, something Auburn hadn’t missed in decades.
Then you had the rumors that he was verbally criticizing the recruitment of dumb, black southern kids and that he wanted the kind of men of “integrity and intelligence” he was getting at Boise.
He might not have been the all time worst, but he absolutely destroyed us.

Chad Morris
Not only the worst hire at Arkansas, but the worst hire in the history of college football.
