Don't forget that Arkansas was looking ahead of Texas game when the team played LSU and lost a very winnable game.

The only thing Arkansas is looking forward to is the end of the season. Trust me these players aren’t getting up for Texas, these players are dead men crawling.

Name, image, and likeness (NIL) rules were introduced in July 2021, when the NCAA adopted an interim policy allowing college athletes to profit from their NIL.

Arkansas is last in just about every category tracked for states including wealth, we don't have enough money to pay for 50 to 60 players to play at a high level. Now in basketball we can afford 6 or 7 players.. but not how many it takes to field a good football team.
You could nominate 11 defensive players from Arkansas to start.

100% it has. You are going to see the sport degrade over the next 10 to 20 years.
You are crazy, this is the worst defense I've evern seen watching decades of Hog football. Our new coach isn't exactly known as the defensive mindset to change that around mid season.

The opponents rank doesn't matter, a terrible offense will still score every drive against this defense. No way we win another game unless we play a team that has compeltly given up on their season. And maybe, maybe we win against Texas because everybody will lose their minds for that game, but the reality is I doubt we win another game.

Worst ever. Has done nothing for the SEC and broken the trust of it's member orgniazations. Other conferences are out innovating us.. see ACC and being transparent when doing reviews.. the only thing that is keeping us ahead is our money and fan base. He has done nothing to help protect schools and the league from NIL. He basically is a worthless piece of shite that is letting the other conferences catch up.

The rule changes killed Malzahn. His entire thing was the tire out a defense. Hard to do that with the sub rules now.

It’s this, once the NCAA figured out all the cheap shite he was pulling on the field they put an end to it with the rule changes. Turned GUS from what appeared to be an elite coach to just another HUNH coach.

The question is can you stop the run. A&M will pound the ball and try to keep your QB on the bench. It’s more about your defense than your offense.

Stop the run? This team couldn't stop a streaker running across the field.. you want to talk about stopping the run?
I'm waiting on him to fire the starters too, he can go down the street to the local Waffle House and find players who could cover better than those guys.
I don't see Arkansas winning a game for the rest of the year. The only way they beat ND is if the 11am game (which is the Hog normal start time for the past decade) puts ND to sleep and they fail to wake up before the end of the game.

To clear, ND could sleep until the last 4 minutes of the game and still win. I haven't see a Hog defense this bad since.. maybe Chad Morris?

Arkansas leads the SEC in…

creating the best memes… no other school comes close.

Everyone sleeping on OU this year? Besides the best defense in the SEC you add the best QB and best RB in the portal and the best OC.

Everybody sleeps on them every year, there is a reason for that.
The guy is a pussy, pretty much every team that plays against Arkansas in football, baseball etc stay at the same hotel, it’s right next to my office and I see them pull into there all the time. It’s no secret where they are staying, pretty much every single person in the state knows the hotel. It’s kind of fricking hard to ignore the police escort with buses coming in.

You should've been out of college football three or four years ago. Not really sure why you're still here. It's like we're talking how to survive with nukes and you're mad because the military has figured out how to drop a few low grade bombs from planes.

A lot of us did get out, but we watch to see how things are going to change. It didn’t die 3 or 4 years ago, it actually died many years ago, we just were pretending that it didn’t.

These kids at top tier schools really haven’t been students for decades. They are getting into elite schools and barley know how to read and write and that in of its self is pretty fricked up.

I remember taking a coaching of basketball class as an easy elective to get an A when I was in college… the class was full of athletes. The class was easy of course but what stunned me was the athletes, they couldn’t fricking read. The teacher was begging them to read 1 paragraph for home work, he was treating them the way I would treat my 5 year old. It was fricked up and a real eye opener.

I still watched though of course, but that class changed my perception of what was really going on. NIL was the nail in the coffin.

The way this ends is that the current system almost has to branch off from the schools, associate with the states and allow the schools to go back to what it’s intended to be, students playing sports watched by other students and true alumni, much smaller in scale. See the Ivy League as an example of this.

NIL plays a role from a depth perspective, more so in football than baseball. If you are a good picture you aren’t going to go to a premier school to sit on the bench and wait for your moment, you are going to get paid to go somewhere else.
I’m independent, could care less about politics and your ignorant views, it’s sheep like you who are the real problem in this country. Stand up for yourself, ad a libraretard you should be more concerned than most.
It’s weird that you bring up DEI/Woke, that’s basically admitting that your argument is shite and that you would prefer to act like a petulant child incapable of having a conversation. Here is a news flash, things are changing dramatically in our country and stupidly trying to blame DEI for everything you disagree with just identifies you as another MAGA sheep whose time is getting shorter and shorter. As a suggestion, you need to start paying attention to what is going on before it’s too late for your and your family.
Because it provides more entertainment to the league as a whole and gives more teams a chance. You say you don’t want to see these games, well I don’t want to see Bama and LSU play for the 3rd fricking time in a year. It’s not baseball, it’s not a best of fricking 7. If LSU can’t beat them the first time then frick LSU, a team from the east should be given the chance.

The other problem you are going to run into is what happens in the premier league, only 4 teams matter in the league and nobody gives a frick about the rest and they die because they have zero chance in the league, it’s decided before half the year is over. That’s because of the single table format and it’s boring as hell. I don’t want to see LSU and Bama 10 years in a row.

With divisions other teams have opportunities and that’s what makes the league interesting.
I disagree, if the better team was staying home it’s because they weren’t good enough to win their division, why should a team that did win their division not get recognized as such?

Divisional play is far superior than lumping everybody into 1 category and calling it a day. When you have a single table the season becomes pretty boring for half the teams halfway through the season because by then they have little to play for other than a bowl game.

With divisions it gives you variability and it gives many teams a chance to either win or tie their smaller division which then gets them into the SEC championship game. In short it allows teams further down the food chain more opportunities to get into the championship game. That’s a win for everybody long term.

But hey, I guess we can keep the single table if folks want half the teams checking out given a 14 team league.
