Yeah the brunt if not all of the storm will have passed a couple hours prior, weather will be fine for kickoff, but 20-50% of the city will be without power. And that’s assuming no bad tornados or flooding events or anything crazy. Just normal power outages for a tropical storm.

Yeah you're overstating a depression. Winds will be at 30mph by the time it hits Tuscaloosa at 7AM. Yeah that's stronger than normal gusts but nothing that will knock power out. You might lose a trash can or tree branches is the most damage you'd see.

You’re probably right, but I thought I saw it could/will still be a TS and TS force winds when passing through Tuscaloosa.

There will be lots of power outages IMO regardless if it’s weakened to a depression by then or not.

In my experiences… hurricane: definitely gonna lose power for an extended time… tropical storm: most likely gonna lose power for a shorter but still uncomfortable amount of time… depression hit or miss, any outages would be short-lived

She'll still be a tropical storm by the time she reaches Tuscaloosa on Saturday morning. The storm will be going through during GameDay. Should be interesting to watch.

Yeah that’s what I thought

If this were a random Tuesday, every school and business would be closed for the day for sure.

All that said, I hope they play they game ..which it appears they will …cause I wanna watch it Saturday. Hopefully lsu cruises against UK early and I can switch back and forth

I doubt they will lose power. Even if they do, I'm sure they will have generators.

I heard GameDay is considering moving to a different site or doing it from the Bama Gym. I think they don't move it because they have already pre-recorded all of the Gump/UGA sob stories segments for the show already.

Odds are Mcafee runs out shirtless in the rain!

The weather is definitely looking better for game time itself. James Spann said this morning that he has confidence that the weather will be fine for game time.

The issue is the weather for people coming in Saturday morning and also whether there are widespread power outages and trees down that could impact the game. Tailgating will be a no-go and I think College Gameday will probably be moved into Coleman Coliseum or something like that.

Yeah, I'm surprised they haven't at least pushed kickoff back an hour or two since they seem hell-bent on playing the game Sat night.

Well the stadium is one thing. That's above my pay grade. I was just responding to the post about the Gameday set.

And the field. I wonder if they have one of those huge tarps to put over the field to help keep it from getting soaked through

The field had a SubAir system installed in 2023, it'll be fine.

if they cancel game UGA and Bama would be ineligible to win SEC
That's what Sankey told LSU and Florida when that game had to be rescheduled

So the SEC Championship game would feature some less meaningful matchup and both Georgia and Bama would still likely be in the playoff. Yeah, things are a little different than when the LSU Florida thing happened in the 12 team era.

UGA could play the day before Auburn and be alright.

This is so true that it’s painful!

You know you're a football fan when....

You care more about the kick-off time than a damn hurricane!

If that model is correct. I’m not sure I buy it moving that fast at this point.

They won’t move it to Athens for damn sure. Sankey can’t have his darlings losing a home game

When was the last time UGA beat Bama in the regular season?
