No. Vegas just makes money.
Saban being the favorite and not any of the legitimate names that are actually feasible just shows how far in the wilderness and dysfunctional LSU's organization is. People are fantasybooking instead of being professional.
I'd be extremely worried as an LSU fan every time Saban is mentioned purely by the fact that unserious people are leading this clusterfu.ck.

ABC/SEC has been lapping all other football packages this year and it hasn't been particularly close.
You're reading too much into an Alabama-LSU game that had an interim coach on the sidelines for the first time. This was never gonna be an intriguing game and it still finished #1.

But but Matt Moscona says LSU has dirt on BK for 3 different instances...2 personal and 1 professional.
Surely a glorified messageboard poster with a microphone and tens of people watching his livestreams where he does Christmas light ads knows more than legal experts that has experience in the field.

Everything that was an asset to LSU they have now somehow turned into a liability. I've never seen a program flame out like this.
What makes them attractive now besides that they always have great in-state talent? Historically other programs have successfully poached that talent and there's not a loyalty to LSU among high school recruits like they think. It wasn't until Saban that they managed to keep talent in state. But NIL has erased that.

re: LSU's supposed future head coach was in Tuscaloosa last night
Posted by secuniversity on 11/9/25 at 9:27 pm to TideSaint
This has always been silly. The Sabans are Alabama more than they are anything or anywhere they've ever been. More than Michigan St., more than LSU.
Things in Tuscaloosa that bear Saban's name:
Saban Catholic Student Center
Saban Center Arts Academy
Saban Center Park
Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium
The Sabans are part owners in 3 restaurants in Tuscaloosa
They have a house there. He has an office in the stadium. Both his kids married Alabama students. His son runs his Birmingham Mercedes dealership. His daughter had her wedding reception in the stadium.
Saban has no draw to anywhere besides Alabama.

re: Kelly is the most important hire by LSU since Saban
Posted by secuniversity on 11/9/25 at 8:57 pm to Tuscaloosa
This serves as a lesson. A portion of the LSU fans will hype whoever they hire whether it's a Sunbelt coach or a Big 12 coordinator.
Alabama hired a coach 4 days after his appearance in the national championship game.
The days of those types of hires is over. Alabama had perhaps the last of those types of big hires.
The way CFB has changed even since DeBoer's hire has changed forever.
It's not about coaching salaries and "good jobs" and more about NIL guarantees.

re: Matt Austin " Bama definitely imitated the snap, but I love the call on LSU"

LSU needs to learn they are beneath Alabama in every way: tradition, history, championships, image and money.
It's good optics for CFB that Alabama is always in a position to represent CFB. Look at the TV ratings this year. Alabama laps every team because people want to watch Alabama.
Would it make sense that the Miami Marlins to be over the New York Yankees?
Alabama is the face of CFB and LSU should know its role.

This may be the worst PR week of any SEC school in history, and it hasn't even been a full week.

So was the Jerry Springer show. Why do you think it was in syndication for 20 years?
re: LSU HC and AD debacle... surpassing 2017 Tennessee??
Posted by secuniversity on 10/30/25 at 9:41 pm to Tridentds
How could Alabama's be so smooth, look effortless and had very few leaks? Kalen Deboer was announced as coach not even 48 hours after Saban retired.
No PR disaster, no government intervention, no Foghorn Leghorn governor having a meltdown for 2 days straight, no organizational chaos.
Just a seamless, professional transition unlike Alabama's SEC contemporaries who seem to struggle.

Florida is a better overall state than Alabama by a wide margin.
No they aren't

Florida has only had two semi-competent coaches in their history and they were both very successful.
This point furthers the first 3 points that Alabama is better than Florida in those categories due to empirical evidence that Florida CAN'T hire better coaches than Alabama due to Alabama being better in the aforementioned categories.

People like Matt Moscona is just a fan with a microphone that sells car dealership ads. Nothing he does, has accomplished or experienced makes him more qualified to speak about the subject he talks about everyday than the average messageboard poster on this board.
He's not plugged in, he has no insight, he has no expertise in the sport or the LSU program. He's a fan with a microphone who literally sells ads on his radio station for dudes who go around decorating houses in Christmas lights as a business.

Sources close to the situation say that an OC in C-USA has agreed in principle to a contract. It'll be announced towards the end of the week.

This. It doesn't take any intelligence or critical thinking to have a sports opinion. I give T Bob a pass because he played the game at a high level but he's content with being a caricature for the rest of his career.
Moscona, and all sports commentators who haven't played the game at any level, isn't qualified to talk with any credibility or intelligence about a subject in which they've never participated. They might as well be commentating physics, they don't have a background in either.
They are simply fans with microphones that sell ads for car dealerships.

Winning titles was always the exception rather than the rule at LSU.
As Matt Moscona said last night when people were trolling him with "LSU is burning" after his "Bama is Burning" troll last year...he said, "LSU isn't burning because this is what LSU is...an 8.5 win, on average, team that pops a big season once a decade."
That revealed a truth that many can't argue with.
re: Lane Kiffin offered $13.5 million / 6 years to become next Florida Gators coach?
Posted by secuniversity on 10/23/25 at 7:21 pm to Ancient Astronaut
Where money could come into play here is not his salary. It'll be what kind of promises he can get on NIL and if Ole Miss can match THAT, not his salary.

He's already potentially getting almost $12 million this year w/ bonuses with a base of $9 million at Ole Miss.
These aren't Earth shattering numbers this day and age considering what a good QB goes for now.

Ole Miss will match or exceed. This isn't about money, it's where he thinks he'll be able to get in the CFP and win championships.
