What's the cut off for a rivalry?

I mean how many do you have to lose in a row before it's official, in your eyes?

What's Georgia Tech's record vs Georgia?
3-16 over the last 19 games?

What's South Carolina's against Clemson?
6 game losing streak to Clemson? Last competitive game 5 years ago?

Since the SEC was formed in 1933 UT is 2nd in the conference in win pct and LSU is 4th. Since integration UT is 6th in the SEC and LSU is 5th. Last season Alabama beat UT 48-17 and beat LSU 55-17.

Those who think UT won't eventually turn it around are stupid and short sighted.

(assuming you're a LSU fan because they are the ones most often so concerned about UA vs UT)

Oh, it's a rivalry. Maybe not to you, but it is to us.

Because it's a RIVALRY. What is so hard to understand about it? I realize LSU fans have no real concept of what rivalries are since they've never had one, but I can assure you that they are a real thing.

When did UGA and GT stop playing? I guess I totally missed that one.

Honest question...

How old are you? I mean you sound like some young, naive kid who doesn't know a lot about football, SEC Football in particular.

There is a fundamental misunderstanding on this board about what constitutes a rivalry. It doesn’t make a frick what an LSU fan thinks of it, or anyone else for that matter, because they aren’t part of it. I personally don’t GAF about the egg bowl, but I understand that it’s important to those people, and don’t try to claim it’s not a rivalry.

Well for starters, Tech quit the conference, and if they'd stayed, they would have been one, too!
Actually Tide folks hated Tech worse than anybody back then, and it was fueled by the hatred between Alabama/Coach Bryant and the Atlanta Constitution newspaper.

Very soon BAMA will be taking their talent to the east. Where they are 30-0 since 2010.

I believe he was referring to the GT - Bama game...

Totally different situation. The Bama/Jacket game was played every year until '63...

When Tech left the conference.

So, bdavids, study up on your football/SEC history and try again.

you "get" the Egg Bowl but not the Third Saturday in October, you have a moral duty to return your HiSET/GED to whatever parish awarded it as it was clearly given erroneously.

One is an instate rivalry while one is not. It’s easy to understand the egg bowl and not get why the annual rent a win for Alabama is worth saving. A better comparison would have been Auburn/UGA compared to Alabama/Tennessee

you are right lsu has no true rivalry. I respect the iron bowl. Its the best rivalry in the country. but you don't get to dictate the conference schedule because you have another one where you win 14 in a row and smoke cigars like you accomplished something. So everyone else has abide by your rivalry

Because keeping that game has fricked the crossover schedule so hard. That’s why

If you are scared of losing to Florida, why don't you just come out and admit it?

There was a thread earlier that asked why UT wasn’t any good any longer. It’s a demographics issue as well as the Carolinas giving a shite about football now.

Yes, we do

TSIO is staying because Bama and Tennessee want it to stay and there’s nothing anyone, especially LSU, can do about it.

Oh, in that case the Bama/GT game stopped because Bobby Dodd got his panties in a wad, left the SEC, and refused to play Bama anymore. That was outside of our control.

It’s beyond me how Tennessee’s “recruiting challenges” are somehow something new.

I just hate having to play Florida every year

Why? It has become one of our best rivalry games. I understand the idea of wanting to play all schools in the conference more often, but no way do I want to give up the Florida game so we can play Vandy, Kentucky, and Missou more.
