That Bama "gets more calls"? I guess, if you say so. Certain statistics say otherwise. What do you want me to watch the replay of every single call made in every single SEC game to compare?

That Saban's assistants go on to make terrible head coaches? We gave you Dantonio, Jimbo, and Jason Garrett and said the jury was still out on Kirby. (not that their success or lack thereof has much to do with Saban).


My point, and the point you have avoided, is that LSU fans on this board bitch incessantly about all things Bama. But they know, deep down, that they have to talk about the bullshite that doesn't matter (like NFL careers, or former assistant coaches, or collusion from the refs/SEC/NCAA) because they know when they talk about college football they don't have a whole lot to say over the past 5 or so years.

It would take a 5 min phone call from Saban. He has already done the scouting, he already knows Smart. Both Bama and Clemson brought in other teams coaching staffs to help them prepare for the Natty. I think Clemson even flew Swag in to see how he was able to beat Bama. Fisher is doing well. McElwain did well at Colorado State and then represented the SEC East in the title game in his first year at UF. Kirby is in his first year as a head coach so it may be a weee bit early to say he is terrible.

No. Not true. SOME "gumps" might feel that way, but most of us are smart/aware enough to recognize that there are ample flaws (kicker, for a prime example) and that Bama is absolutely beatable. We just feel that, while not perfect, Bama is currently and historically the best program in the SEC (same as Kentucky fans feel about their Basketball program).

I can admit that, just as I can admit that some folks that have great success under one type of management structure will struggle under another type. That doesn't mean the person is a failure. Often it means those in leadership aren't managing that employee properly (see how Sean Payton continually misuses Mark Ingram as an example).

Nick Saban's first NFL team finished the season on a 6 game win streak to end the year 9-7 and barely miss the playoffs.
His second season they were 5-6 before a 4 game slide with QBs like Joey Harrington and Cleo Lemon (who else won with those guys?). How did the dolphins do under Cam Cameron the year after Saban left? Same players lost 15 games that year.

That's not a "failure in the NFL", but, again, like your BustU narrative, it's one that mostly LSU fans continue to push b/c it gives them some small moral victory for some reason.

That is easy. None of them have the relationships that he has nor do they have the ability to forge the type of relationships that he has. Also, the big money people know that, for this division at this point in time, to maximize profits they have to put Alabama in the playoffs.
