But I'm the sensitive one? Enjoy your fifth consecutive 3+ loss season.

BTW, things are working out great for me since my whole life is based on Bama football.

Really? How come Bama had twice as many penalty calls in the LSU game?

What topic? That LSU fans bitch and whine worse than anybody in sports? I addressed that.

That Bama "gets more calls"? I guess, if you say so. Certain statistics say otherwise. What do you want me to watch the replay of every single call made in every single SEC game to compare?

That Saban's assistants go on to make terrible head coaches? We gave you Dantonio, Jimbo, and Jason Garrett and said the jury was still out on Kirby. (not that their success or lack thereof has much to do with Saban).

My point, and the point you have avoided, is that LSU fans on this board bitch incessantly about all things Bama. But they know, deep down, that they have to talk about the bullshite that doesn't matter (like NFL careers, or former assistant coaches, or collusion from the refs/SEC/NCAA) because they know when they talk about college football they don't have a whole lot to say over the past 5 or so years.

does that mean Nick Saban must not be good?
No. It just means he is a great cheater. Saban without buying 5*s in the sec is average. ULM proved that.

Defend it then. You cannot, and that is the problem.

Refs miss calls all the time and Bama is hardly the only team to not get called for holding when holding did in fact occur. Now prove to me that Bama gets away with holding more than every other team in the SEC? You can't. LSU and Auburn fans just bitch about it because Saban is kicking arse in the SEC at the moment.

It would take a 5 min phone call from Saban. He has already done the scouting, he already knows Smart. Both Bama and Clemson brought in other teams coaching staffs to help them prepare for the Natty. I think Clemson even flew Swag in to see how he was able to beat Bama. It's not like Saban has other hobbies to attend to, not like he was too busy concerning himself with who to vote for in the election.

Really? WOW

What would be the point in it though? He's got 3 former assts coaching in the SEC East right now.

You think he's calling Jim Mc and telling him how to beat Kirby? Why the hell didn't he call Muschamp and give him tips to beating Smart?

Kirby, Mcelwain, Muschamp.....all mediocre at best as head coaches. Papa Saban's greatness not rubbing off? Whats the deal?

Fisher is doing well. McElwain did well at Colorado State and then represented the SEC East in the title game in his first year at UF. Kirby is in his first year as a head coach so it may be a weee bit early to say he is terrible.

They find they can't get away with what Saban can once they leave Alabama.

Come on man, I said SOME

You said SOME because saying ALL would be moronic. You said SOME b/c you want to continue to push the moral victory narrative that "well, Bama players don't produce in NFL. They're BustU". It's played out at this point, but it is still a favorite go to for LSU fans.

quote:

You fricking Gumps

You seem rational.

quote:

think everything about your precious team is perfect

No. Not true. SOME "gumps" might feel that way, but most of us are smart/aware enough to recognize that there are ample flaws (kicker, for a prime example) and that Bama is absolutely beatable. We just feel that, while not perfect, Bama is currently and historically the best program in the SEC (same as Kentucky fans feel about their Basketball program).

quote:

and everyone else is shite

Not true. Most of us root for the SEC during bowl and OOC games. We take pride in the conference being strong.

quote:

How can you not admit that the only fault Saban seems to have is that he exerts so much control over the program that SOME folks cannot thrive outside of his influence?

I can admit that, just as I can admit that some folks that have great success under one type of management structure will struggle under another type. That doesn't mean the person is a failure. Often it means those in leadership aren't managing that employee properly (see how Sean Payton continually misuses Mark Ingram as an example).

quote:

This is the reason he was not successful in the NFL

Nick Saban's first NFL team finished the season on a 6 game win streak to end the year 9-7 and barely miss the playoffs.
His second season they were 5-6 before a 4 game slide with QBs like Joey Harrington and Cleo Lemon (who else won with those guys?). How did the dolphins do under Cam Cameron the year after Saban left? Same players lost 15 games that year.

That's not a "failure in the NFL", but, again, like your BustU narrative, it's one that mostly LSU fans continue to push b/c it gives them some small moral victory for some reason.

Geez, some of you guys are unbelievable.

couldn't agree more, Pot.

That is easy. None of them have the relationships that he has nor do they have the ability to forge the type of relationships that he has. Also, the big money people know that, for this division at this point in time, to maximize profits they have to put Alabama in the playoffs.

That's all fine and well, but to act like just having the most talented team on the field guarantees victory is silly. It would take all day to go down the list of coaches who recruited really well but routinely lost 2-4 games a year. Alabama NEVER loses more than 2 games a year.

Agreed. Having the best talent on the field doesn't guarantee victory but the advantage on the field is certainly in your favor. Now, you and I both know that you can't place Saban on this long list of coaches who recruit really well, but still lose 2-4 games. The Crimson Tide has finished the last 5 recruiting cycles with the #1 Ranked Recruiting Class. Nick Saban has been enjoying the athletes that keep coming with these classes. He knows that stellar #1 recruiting classes each year will keep his program on top.

Recruiting is the lifeblood for any successful program. Clearly, Saban is a great football coach but downplaying the role that recruiting plays with the Crimson Tides current success is silly. IMO

Alabama also NEVER loses to unranked opponents.

IMHO... This should never happen b/c of the reasons I stated above.
