Well, this is how I see it. Saban was a very good HC at Michigan State, he was a better HC at LSU. He then went to Miami and was ok(different game). I think he is the best CFB coach of all time. He sacrifices for that honor. As the "head ball coach" stated, probably to the detriment of his life. No one works harder to gain the edge. Hell he was apparently not even aware of an election on Tuesday. This is sad in a way, but perhaps explains why he is the GOAT in what he does. Read his unauthorized biography. He is his career more than anyone I know of. This explains why his assistants will never be as successful and most not even close.

Both the Champ and Jim went out of conference before going back to the SEC. Smart went straight to UGA and took transfers and recruits with him that he was originally recruiting to come to Bama. UGA and Bama go after the same recruits every year, USC is not a factor and Florida is always going to get some good instate prospects even when they are .500 and coached by Muschamp. Best believe Saban wants UGA to stay down for several reasons. They are one of maybe 5 programs that compete with Bama in terms of talent. As long as Saban gets to cherry pick talent from LA and GA they are going to the playoffs every year.

Why do LSU fans look for anything to convince themselves that Nick Saban is not a great coach, even if it doesn't at all relate to Nick Saban as a head coach?

Not saying he isn't a good coach, but it would be interesting to see what he could do at a school like Mississippi State or Kentucky.

It is hard to declare someone the GOAT when he has only been successful at programs that have all the resources a coach could dream of.

I'd say he has definitely made the most out of a good situation, but could he do the same at a not so good situation? I can't say for sure that he would.

Because these dumbass AD's keep hiring based on hype rather than proven experience.

It's what the fans demand.

How many of belichicks guys pan out? Saban did
Weiss-no
Cronnell- no
McDaniel- no
Schwartz- no

You can take guys from THE MAN but unless u take THE MAN it's just another coordinator trying to be a head coach. Hanging out with smart guys doesn't make u smart.

Because Saban is an evil genius whose life goal is to make you miserable and he's carrying out his plan to perfection. There's nothing you can do about. Like the A Perfect Circle song, you are weak and powerless.

It would take a 5 min phone call from Saban. He has already done the scouting, he already knows Smart. Both Bama and Clemson brought in other teams coaching staffs to help them prepare for the Natty. I think Clemson even flew Swag in to see how he was able to beat Bama. It's not like Saban has other hobbies to attend to, not like he was too busy concerning himself with who to vote for in the election.

If your coach received anything of substance in a 5 minute phone conversation from Nick after scouting Kirby himself, how overpaid is your coach?

Why do LSU fans always ask, "Why don't people like us?" "Why does everybody pick on us?"

Can you name one coach that would? I mean, Mississippi State? Kentucky? Nobody has, and there is a good chance nobody will. So, does that exclude him from being the GOAT?

I could easily see Saban doing as well and probably better than any other coach that has been to those two schools.

All coaches learn from other coaches, how many times have you heard about the NFL being a copycat league? When teams visit other staffs in the off season they are not just looking for a vacation to a rural college town. it is very common for a coach to compare notes with a colleague especially if they have a common opponent. Why are Alabama fans upset or surprised by this? Like Nick has some moral high ground that he is on, he is win at all costs and does not hide it.
