Most Aggies have been to Georgia on a fast train.

Good thing that wasn't the question. I'm asking why Georgia is unique. Saying its because their fanbase is 'rich' and has a higher income isn't factually correct. Could it be because their fanbase lives outside their own means by going to these road trips? That's what I think it is.

You can believe what you want to believe. Cheers

Season tickets arent cheap. A fan makes an investment to secure those seats on an annual basis.

Every fan has "a price" to try and recoop costs of that annual package.
Name that price, offer it on the internet, and watch Georgia fans throw money at it.
When Georgia is on your schedule, that opportunity comes around. You can count on it.

But on the flip side, no one is willing to throw that amount of money at our season ticket holders. Our price is just too great.

Lol at LSU fans trying to talk down on other cities when Baton Rouge is such trash that pieces of the city break off to get away from it.

Most Georgians never actually leave the state so it makes them feel worldly.

There’s a reason that Atlanta’s airport is the busiest in the world. And you driving a tractor trailer and/or having a house on wheels doesn’t make you worldly.

Fans from Mississippi and Alabama are so accustomed to their schools being within driving distance, they don't seem as willing to fly to more distant cities. We see/hear it every year when the issue of relocating/alternating the Baseball Tourney, Football Championship, etc. arise. The frequent argument is that fans in those states need to be able to drive. There's also the issue of fewer large airports existing in those locales.

Texas A&M fans often live in large cities and enjoy air travel, seeing new places/venues, etc.

Obviously exceptions exist on both sides of the coin.

This has always been curious to me. Our fans will pay a stupid amount of money to go to a game hundreds of miles away, but won't drive down the road for a basketball game.

We would give ours away to UGA fans before we sold them to the opposition

I guess there is some truth to this. Prior to 1990, all of our SEC opponents (and frequent non-conference) were within a 6 hour drive from Auburn. On the other side of that, I bet it becomes much harder to recruit in the state of Texas because of the move. Back in the Big 12, an Aggie recruiter could tell the parents they'd be able to travel to most of the away games since they were all relatively close (Waco, Austin, Ft. Worth, Lubbock, etc.). Now those parents are having to travel to places like Nashville, Auburn, Starkville, Gainesville... Places that parents are going to have much more trouble getting to.

Are you watching/following the Braves/Nats game? Wild one so far ...
On Wednesday I'm slammed with telecons and VTCs so I was only able to follow it on Gamecast.

Good to see the Braves pick up their first win of the season tho.

The non pours were not UGA fans as a rule, veterinarians being the exception of course. (UGA is a great Vet school)

Not entirely true.
The only close Texas schools were UTex (ATX) and Baylor (Waco).
Lubbock is a 7 hour drive from College Station.
Fort Worth wasn’t a B12 city.

Our games were in Iowa, Kansas, Colorado, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma.

Wow! Coming from an Arkansas fan whose football team has been near the bottom in the college ranking a for a while and have no right to put down Texas A&M fan. Some Arkansas even try to put down Missouri and they have beaten Arkansas the last 5 games. Poor Arkansas fans! Start beating Texas A&M and Missouri before start trash talking those two teams!

Hard for ga students to get into uga, which means they go OOS and move back, so this makes sense. More so than other states and their poors.
