I've always noticed that Texas A&M and Georgia fans travel extremely well to football games on the road. Despite being one of the furthest geographically located teams, I'm surprised that the Aggies are able to fill several sections of the stadium each time they come to Jordan-Hare. They even host a Jr. midnight-yell at the local high school the night before the game. For Georgia, the pictures speak for themselves. Go find a panorama shot of the Notre Dame game in 2017 or the Vandy game in 2019. Its black and red across the stadium! Even for the Florida game in Jacksonville, the split looks more like 60/40 Georgia fans. Considering Athens is 5 and a half hours away and Gainesville is only an hour and a half. Why is this? Do these schools make it a tradition to travel? Genuinely curious.

Vandy 2019 makes sense for GA fans- they had that circled on the calendar for a while because Nashville is a fun city to visit

If you had the chance to get out of Soviet Russia, I mean College Station, every once in a while. Wouldn't you do it?

Most Georgians never actually leave the state so it makes them feel worldly.

A&M is a giant school, with a cultish mentality, and graduates living everywhere.

We are rich.

If your fanbase is selling tickets, our fanbase is buying.

Name your price.

Partly because their fanbases are spread out around the country. Same reason Ohio state travels so well

Really? I've never thought that. Maybe in years when one team is really good or really bad you'll notice a difference, but its generally very even.

Rich in what regard? Certainly not from graduates. Georgia is 6th among mid-career graduate income.

Most Georgia grads are from the Atlanta metro area, and most people from the metro are not from the actual state originally. They dont have roots in GA, so when graduating or trying to find a new career, moves out of state are quite common.

Couple that with the ATL airport and lots of jobs in ATL that travel . Both of those prior things make is easy to go on the road.

A&M has a giant alumni, because of their historic enrollment and are spread around the country.

That was a big time game and a trip of a lifetime for many UGA fans. Most went to the Cubs game the night before and then traveled to South Bend for the game. ND fans were super pissed at the amount of UGA fans

How cute. Payscale.com self reported incomes. Is that where all of the OT Ballers hang out? So scientific and conclusive.

Again, UGA doesnt hand out all of these away game tickets.
The poors from your fanbases are selling them to us. And they continue to do so

Good thing that wasn't the question. I'm asking why Georgia is unique. Saying its because their fanbase is 'rich' and has a higher income isn't factually correct. Could it be because their fanbase lives outside their own means by going to these road trips? That's what I think it is.

A&M has a massive alumni base and student body. Many of which live all over so I’m sure for most road trips, a good chunk of the Aggie fans didn’t travel all the way from Texas. Then again, a lot of them probably did too.

For Georgia , similar thing. Just a big alumni base and a big non alumni fan base. Everyone in the state bleeds black and red.
