re: Why didn't any of the major programs steal Lane Kiffin from Ole Miss?

Because he’s a job hopper and can’t recruit

He is a job hopper. Always looking for the next best thing. I believe most major programs see that. You hire him and he will be gone at next opportunity. Just like what he did while at Tennessee.
Repeating something on message boards over and over doesn’t make something true.
Raiders - fired
Ten - left for his dream job in USC. Was always his dream job, never denied it.
USC - fired
Oc at Bama - left for a hc job (took less money)
FAU - left for sec hc
Ole Miss

Because he's at a major program, duh...

Arkansas wanted him.

uhh, no. They were totally upset he left. Except for 2 blocked field goals his team would have beaten Alabama that year. He would have built a consistent contender at UT.

He is immature as frick. Not who you want leading your program. Ok for an offensive coordinator but not for a program head

Fired at Oakland. Would have been fired at Tennessee if he didn't leave. Fired at USC. No one wants him with his resume. He is looking at an OC job in the NFL.
Somebody needs to remind Deliverence here when Lane signed a “MeMorANdum oF uNdERsTaNdINg”

You got proof besides just rumors or if he was even offered the job?
Posted on 12/1/21 at 7:56 am to BLG
He eventually would have been fired at Tennessee. He didn't care for Tennessee and was waiting for the USC job to open up.

I guess on the internets that part existed. But the Nutt himself did have one with Ole Miss.

Would not fit here, at all. At Ole Miss if he goes for it on fourth down five times from inside his own forty and loses as a result there is grumbling but no real anger because hey, at least they're better than they were when he got there. At Alabama if he does that the entire state erupts in apoplectic fury.

Lane is never going to grow up. Accept him as he is today because that isn't going to change.

If the NFL wants Kingsbury 2.0 then Quiffin will get a call and be gone from ole miss.

Out of the three programs that were clear upgrades over the Ole Miss job (Florida, LSU, USC), two of them made grand slam hires and the third landed the most promising young G5 HC candidate on the market.

Miami hasn't fired Manny Diaz yet
I've seen the rumors of a potential mutual interest there.
But why?
What's the specific Miami draw for Kiffin?

I agree. I don’t think Saban is the robot some people think he is and I don’t see him dying as a head coach. He has other things in his life.

So, it looks like he's sucked so bad, he gets fired everywhere he goes? We all know Saban was tired of him.
